Differential with bi-directional overrunning clutch
A differential with an overrunning clutch (ORC) assembly is provided. The differential includes a first plain bearing end cap with an interior surface that forms a plain bearing interface with an outer surface of a first side hub. The first plain bearing end cap further has a first outer surface portion that engages a first end portion of a roller cage assembly. A second plain bearing end cap with an interior surface that forms a plain bearing interface with an outer surface of the second side hub is also included. The second plain bearing end cap further has a first outer surface portion that engages a second end portion of the roller cage assembly. The (ORC) assembly selectively engages the roller cage assembly during an ORC condition to selectively couple torque between a ring gear and the first and second side hubs.
Multiple motor multiple speed continuous power transmission
An electric powertrain includes a first electric motor that has an uninterrupted connection with a drive shaft of a vehicle. The electric powertrain further includes a second electric motor that has an interruptible connection with the drive shaft. In one form, this interruptible connection includes a clutch. The electric powertrain further includes a first gear train in the form of a first planetary gear and a second gear train in the form of a second planetary gear. To provide a compact configuration, the first electric motor and second electric motor are arranged in a centerline orientation with the drive shaft.
Drive unit
A drive unit is disclosed. The drive unit includes a prime mover, a torque converter, and a power transmission mechanism. A torque is inputted from the prime mover to the torque converter. The power transmission mechanism is disposed between the prime mover and the torque converter. The power transmission mechanism is configured to transmit the torque outputted from the torque converter toward a drive wheel.

Provided is a power transmission device that can increase a torque that a second motor outputs to an output shaft. The power transmission device includes: a first input shaft and a second input shaft coupled to a first motor and a second motor, respectively, and disposed on the same axis; a first speed reduction mechanism transmitting a rotation of the first input shaft to an output shaft via an intermediate shaft; a second speed reduction mechanism transmitting a rotation of the second input shaft to the output shaft via the intermediate shaft at a speed reduction ratio different from the speed reduction ratio of the first speed reduction mechanism; and a first clutch disconnecting or connecting the power of the first speed reduction mechanism.

A freewheeling system for tandem axles, the system including a wheel hub, a wheel hub cover attached to an end of the wheel hub, the wheel hub cover having tines predicted thereon, an actuator chamber, a piston, a sleeve, an axle shaft, and at least one air input. The at least one air input feeding the actuator chamber in which is accommodated the piston that is engaged in the sleeve concentrically mounted in an end of the axle shaft having axial mobility, wherein the sleeve has a flange endowed with tines that mechanically cooperate with the tines predicted on the wheel hub cover.

A freewheeling system for tandem axles, the system including a wheel hub, a wheel hub cover attached to an end of the wheel hub, the wheel hub cover having tines predicted thereon, an actuator chamber, a piston, a sleeve, an axle shaft, and at least one air input. The at least one air input feeding the actuator chamber in which is accommodated the piston that is engaged in the sleeve concentrically mounted in an end of the axle shaft having axial mobility, wherein the sleeve has a flange endowed with tines that mechanically cooperate with the tines predicted on the wheel hub cover.
