A military vehicle includes a chassis, a front axle coupled to the chassis, a rear axle coupled to the chassis, and a driveline. The driveline includes an engine, an energy storage system, a front end accessory drive positioned in front of and coupled to the engine, a transmission coupled to at least one of the front axle or the rear axle, a second motor coupled to the transmission and electrically coupled to the energy storage system, and a clutch positioned between the engine and the second motor. The front end accessory drive includes an air compressor and a first motor. The first motor is electrically coupled to the energy storage system. The clutch is spring-biased into engagement with the engine and pneumatically disengaged by an air supply selectively provided thereto based on operation of the air compressor. The driveline is operable in an engine-only mode and an electric-only mode.

A method for operating a drivetrain of a motor vehicle, includes, when the motor vehicle is at a standstill and upon demand for a drive torque of the motor vehicle, increasing power (25p) supplied to a separate electric pump drive (25) such that a pressure chamber whose pressurization effects a complete closure or lock-up of a launch element (3) is fast charged with hydraulic pressure from a pump (24). The method also includes performing a launch process of the motor vehicle with the drive source (1) and with a closed or locked-up launch element (3) and reducing the power (25p) supplied to the separate electric pump drive (25) after fast charging the pressure chamber. A refuse vehicle includes a chassis, a battery, a vehicle body, an electric power take-off system, and a lifting system. The chassis supports a plurality of wheels. The battery is supported by the chassis and is configured to provide electrical power to a first motor. Rotation of the first motor selectively drives at least one of the plurality of wheels. The vehicle body is supported by the chassis and defines a receptacle for storing refuse. The electric power take-off system is coupled to the vehicle body and includes a second motor configured to convert electrical power received from the battery into hydraulic power. The electric power take-off system is positioned within the receptacle. The lifting system is coupled to the vehicle body and is movable relative to the receptacle using hydraulic power from the electric power take-off system.

A battery-operated work machine is provided which can perform a work while avoiding such a situation that the work machine cannot reach charging equipment. When the remaining capacity of a battery becomes lower than a first threshold value set in advance, a controller controls an inverter such that the revolution speed of an electric motor is kept at a target revolution speed and controls a first notification device to operate, and besides switches a traveling motor to a travel first speed side, in which the displacement volume is a large volume, irrespective of an input from a traveling mode instruction device, when the remaining capacity of the battery becomes lower than a first threshold value set in advance.

FRONT END ACCESSORY DRIVE WITH MULTIPLE SPEED RATIOS

A vehicle includes an engine having a crankshaft, an electric machine having a shaft, and a front end accessory drive (FEAD). The FEAD includes a multi-speed pulley assembly mounted to one of the crankshaft and the shaft, a pulley mounted to the other of the crankshaft and the shaft, and a tension member trained around the multi-speed pulley assembly and the pulley. The multi-speed pulley assembly is configured to establish a low speed ratio between the shaft and the crankshaft and a high speed ratio between the shaft and the crankshaft. A vehicle controller is programmed to, in switch between the high speed ratio and the low speed ratio to optimize operating conditions of the FEAD.

A hybrid power module efficiently delivers both hydraulic power and electric power. The hybrid power module may regenerate and store energy for later use. The module includes and engine and an electric motor for driving a hydraulic pump. The electric motor is operable as a starter motor for the engine and as an assist motor cooperating with the engine to power the hydraulic pump to improve dynamic response of the hydraulic pump. The module also includes an electric power source which may have an energy storage unit, and the electric motor may be operated as an electric generator providing electric energy to the energy storage unit.

An electric drive axle for a vehicle includes at least one first electric vehicle drive system (1) for driving at least one vehicle wheel (11, 12) and at least one connection interface (8) for at least one power take-off (PTO). The vehicle drive system (1, 13) is coupled at least to one first double shift element (6) such that, at least in a first engagement position of the first double shift element (6), the vehicle drive system (1, 13) is drivingly coupled to at least one vehicle wheel (11, 12) and, in a second engagement position of the first double shift element (6), the vehicle drive system (1, 13) is decoupled from the at least one vehicle wheel (11, 12) and is drivingly coupled to the connection interface (8) for the power take-off (PTO). A vehicle with an electric drive axle is also provided.
