Dual motor electric driveline
The present document relates to a dual motor electric driveline, comprising: a transmission having an input and an output, a power take-off (PTO), a first electric motor drivingly engaged or selectively drivingly engaged with the input of the transmission, a second electric motor, a first clutching device, and a second clutching device, wherein the second electric motor is selectively drivingly engaged with the input of the transmission through the first clutching device, and wherein the second electric motor is selectively drivingly engaged with the PTO through the second clutching device. The present document further relates to a vehicle including said dual motor electric driveline, and to a method of controlling said dual motor electric driveline.
ELECTRIC VEHICLE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM AND METHOD
A vehicle system includes an electric motor that also operates as a generator. A torque transfer mechanism is attached to the electric motor and a second torque transfer mechanism is connected via a disconnect mechanism. An AC compressor is attached to the first torque transfer mechanism via a clutch, which has an open position and a closed position. During recuperation, the second torque transfer mechanism is connected to the first torque transfer mechanism and the clutch is closed, and the compressor is driven by the motor. During stand-still, the second torque transfer mechanism is disconnected from the first torque transfer mechanism, and the compressor is driven by the motor. During drive operation, the second torque transfer mechanism is connected to the first torque transfer mechanism, and the clutch is open such that the compressor is not driven, but the system continues to provide cool air to the vehicle cabin.
TRANSMISSION MOUNTED ELECTRICAL CHARGING SYSTEM PTO GEAR ARRANGEMENT
A system includes a PTO device that selectively couples to a driveline of a vehicle, a motor/generator electrically coupled to an electrical power storage system, and a shared load selectively powered by one of the driveline or the motor/generator. The PTO device further includes a coupling actuator that couples the shared load to the motor/generator at a first selected ratio in a first position, and couples the shared load to the driveline at a second selected ratio in a second position.
AXLE SYSTEM WITH A PLANETARY SUPPORT STRUCTURE
An axle system is provided herein. In one example, the axle system includes a gearbox housing at least partially enclosing a gearbox and a planetary gearset that is rotationally coupled to an output of the gearbox and positioned co-axial with a rotational axis of an axle shaft in a differential. The planetary gearset includes a ring gear grounded by a planetary support that is attached to the gearbox housing.

An electric driveline system is provided. The electric driveline system includes a first electric machine and a second electric machine mechanically coupled to a transmission and a power take-off (PTO) assembly coupled to the first electric machine. The PTO assembly includes a first clutch coupled to a PTO gearset and designed to selectively disconnect a PTO from the first electric machine and the PTO gearset is mechanically coupled to the first electric machine.
Transmission mounted electrical charging system with improved battery assembly
An example system includes a motive application having a prime mover, a load, a driveline, and a motor/generator that couples to the driveline. The system includes a number of batteries, and a battery assembly that electrically couples the batteries to the motor/generator. The battery assembly includes a power interface positioned at a first end of the battery assembly, the power interface including a low voltage coupling and a high voltage coupling, and a service electrically interposed between the batteries and the power interface. The service disconnect in a first position couples at least one of the batteries to the first low voltage coupling and couples the batteries to the second high voltage coupling. The service disconnect in a second position de-couples the batteries from the low voltage coupling and the high voltage coupling.

Compressor control systems capable of increasing the reliability and uptime of air compressor systems that operate in harsh corrosive outdoor environments by redundantly sensing one or more operating parameters of the air compressor systems. Such a compressor control system includes a controller adapted to monitor at least a first operating parameter of a component of the air compressor system, at least first and second sensors that are physically separate and spaced apart from each other and that redundantly sense the first operating parameter of a component of the air compressor system, and separate and independent wiring harnesses electrically connecting the first and second sensors to the controller.

In one example, a vehicle transmission system includes a first planetary gear set rotationally coupled to a second planetary gear set and a first electrical machine rotationally coupled to a gear in the first planetary gear set. The vehicle transmission system further includes a second electrical machine rotationally coupled to a gear in the second planetary gear set and a first clutch configured to selectively disconnect the first and second planetary gear sets from a drive axle.

Methods and systems for a vehicle transmission are provided. In one example, a vehicle transmission system is provided that includes a first planetary gear set rotationally coupled to a second planetary gear set, a first electrical machine rotationally coupled to a sun gear in the first planetary gear set, and a second electrical machine rotationally coupled to a sun gear in the second planetary gear set. The transmission system also includes an inter-axle differential including a third planetary gear set rotationally coupled to a first axle and a second axle and selectively rotationally coupled to the first planetary gear set and the second planetary gear set, wherein the inter-axle differential is configured to selectively enable and disable speed differentiation between the first and the second axles.
