Vehicle speed control in a curve

Controlling the speed of a motor vehicle with an adaptive cruise control system in a curve can include dynamically adjusting the speed of the motor vehicle depending on the planned exit from the roundabout and the current position of the motor vehicle.

Systems and methods for vehicle offset navigation

A system for a vehicle is provided. The system may include a memory and at least one processor configured to: access a plurality of images of a forward-facing view from the vehicle, the plurality of images corresponding to image data obtained by a camera; determine from the images a first lane marking on a first side of a lane, the lane through which the vehicle can navigate, and a second lane marking on a second side of the lane opposite of the first side; navigate the vehicle autonomously relatively centered between the first and second lane markings; determine from the plurality of images that an object is on the first side or the second side of the lane, and the object beyond the first or second lane marking; and navigate the vehicle autonomously to travel over a driving path that is offset from a center of the lane.

Method and device for controlling cruise driving of vehicle

A method for controlling cruise driving of a vehicle performed by a controller is provided. The method includes determining whether a turning section is present on a road in front of the vehicle based on information of the road included in navigation information. When the turning section is present on the road, the turning section is divided into an entry area and an escape area. The entry area is an area where speed of the vehicle is adjusted from cruise driving speed to target deceleration speed and the escape area is an area where speed of the vehicle is controlled from the target deceleration speed to the cruise driving speed. When the vehicle is located in the entry area a starter-generator connected to an engine is operated to perform regenerative braking to reduce the speed of the vehicle from the cruise driving speed to the target deceleration speed.

TRAVELING CONTROL APPARATUS

A traveling control apparatus for a vehicle includes a steering angle detector, a vehicle speed detector, and a cruise control unit. The cruise control unit includes a steering angle speed detector, a steering angle correction value setting unit, and a target acceleration rate setting unit. The steering angle correction value setting unit sets a steering angle correction value, on the basis of a speed of the vehicle detected by the vehicle speed detector and a steering angle speed calculated by the steering angle speed detector. The target acceleration rate setting unit sets a target acceleration rate of a cruise control, on the basis of a steering angle and the speed of the vehicle. The steering angle is based on an addition of the steering angle correction value set by the steering angle correction value setting unit to the steering angle absolute value detected by the steering angle detector.

VEHICLE SPEED REGULATION INCORPORATING DRIVER WISHES UNDER CORNERING

A method is intended to regulate the speed of an at least partially self-driving vehicle, knowing the radius of curvature of a future position it is preparing to take on a course along which it is travelling. This method comprises a step (10-90) in which the speed is regulated as a function of a speed set point and, if a radius of curvature of the future position which is representative of a curve is detected, a phase of deceleration down to a chosen speed followed by a phase of acceleration until the speed setpoint is obtained are imposed on the vehicle. In this step (10-90), when the driver imposes acceleration on his vehicle during the deceleration phase, this deceleration phase is halted and then another phase of acceleration until the speed set point is obtained is imposed on the vehicle.

Longitudinal Driver Assistance System in a Motor Vehicle

A longitudinal driver assistance system is provided in a motor vehicle. A first detection system identifies a first event which, starting from an actual speed, leads to the specification of an increased target speed at a predefined location-dependent first moment in time, and for identifying a subsequent second event which, starting from the increased target speed, leads to the specification of a target speed that is reduced in relation thereto at a predefined location-dependent second moment in time. A second detection system identifies, in an anticipatory manner, a predefined deceleration potential starting from the increased target speed to the reduced target speed. A functional unit reduces the acceleration to the increased target speed if, otherwise, the subsequent deceleration to the reduced target speed with the predefined deceleration potential cannot be completed at the location-dependent moment in time of the second event.
