Steering wheel spinner
A steering wheel spinner is incorporated within an outer steering wheel. The spinner assembly is fashioned as an inner steering wheel secured within the circumference of the outer steering wheel. The inner steering wheel is capable of full 360 rotation relative thereto.
Method and apparatus for displaying in a vehicle
Disclosed herein is a method of activating a display device in a moving object. The method of activating a display device in a moving object may include determining a driving mode in the moving object, determining whether or not to activate a display device based on the driving mode of the moving object, and displaying an image in the display device, when the display device is activated. Herein, a display device may be activated and an airbag may be deactivated when a driving mode is a first mode. Also, a display device may be deactivated and an airbag may be activated when a driving mode is a second mode.
Vehicle display device
A vehicular display device according to one embodiment of the present disclosure includes a display configured to display, as an image, a function for various pieces of vehicle operation information, a knob operatively coupled to the display and configured to selectively operate a corresponding function of the display according to left-right movement, and guide rails configured to provide a movement path for the knob and divide a plurality of functional areas interlocked with functions displayed on the display.
Head-up display control system and head-up display display method
A normal information display quantity of a head-up display device is set as a first information display quantity, an information display quantity of the head-up display device after a control unit receives a detection signal of detection of installation of a mobile terminal on a terminal holder from a mobile terminal installation detection unit is set as a second information display quantity, in which the second information display quantity is set to be smaller than the first information display quantity, and at least a part of display information that is displayed in the first information display quantity but is not displayed in the second information display quantity is displayed on the mobile terminal.
VEHICLE USER INTERFACE
A vehicle gesture control system to improve safety and comfort during driving of a vehicle, the vehicle including an adaptive cruise control or autonomous drive arrangement configured to control velocity of the vehicle and distance between the vehicle and another vehicle, the system including a plurality of sensors configured to detect gestures performed by a driver on the surface of a steering wheel grip in the vehicle, the steering wheel grip including a circular tube surrounding a steering wheel, and a processor receiving outputs from the sensors and connected to a memory unit storing instructions for the processor to activate a plurality of features of the adaptive cruise control or autonomous drive arrangement, in response to a respective plurality of different gestures detected by the sensors, one of the gestures including movement of the driver's thumb around a lateral section of the steering wheel grip that faces the driver.
Display arrangement for an instrument cluster
A system and method for adjusting the display of light-based content of a display system includes a display unit. The display unit includes a first layer cooperating with a backlight, a second layer disposed proximate the first layer and a third layer disposed proximate the second layer. At least one microcontroller in communication with the display unit includes a first processing unit configured to receive a dimming level value and a second processing unit. The second processing unit evaluates the dimming level value against a threshold value and adjusts one or more properties of the display unit in response to the measured values.
Image display apparatus
An image display apparatus has: an imaging device (11L, 11R) that is placed at a door (15L, 15R) of a vehicle (1) and that is configured to image an external circumstance of the vehicle; a displaying device (14) that is configured to display an external image captured by the imaging device; and a controlling device (132, 133) that is configured to control an display aspect of the display when the display displays the external image, the controlling device is configured to control the display aspect such that the display aspect when the door is in an opened state is different from the display aspect when the door is in a closed state.
OPTICAL-EFFECT TOUCHPAD ON A STEERING WHEEL FOR FINGER DETECTION
A system for detecting command gestures made by a finger of a motor vehicle driver, including at least one interface pad, a light source that emits an infrared optical beam toward the interface pad, an imaging sensor, in order to capture images steered by the interface pad away from the driver, the interface pad including a base frame and a movable plate that is movable between a rest position and at least one activation position, the base frame including a first inclined edge and the movable plate including a second inclined edge, the first and second inclined edges forming a zone of contrasts of interest as seen by the imaging sensor, and being separated by a space or brought closer together depending on the position of the movable plate, and generating a contrast effect in the images of the interface pad that are captured by the imaging sensor.
Method for Assisting a Use of a Motor Vehicle When Swerving Around an Obstacle, Driver Assistance Device, and a Motor Vehicle
This disclosure relates to a method for assisting a user of a motor vehicle when swerving around an obstacle on a movement path of the motor vehicle. A driver assistance device carries out the following: providing a warning signal which describes an object on the movement path and a collision area which is visible through a window, preferably a vehicle window of the motor vehicle and in which the object is located; defining a swerving area visible through the vehicle window, in which a swerving point for travelling around the object is visible, generating an accentuation signal, which describes a measure for accentuating the swerving area, and transmitting the accentuation signal to an accentuation device. Depending on the accentuation signal, the measure for accentuating the swerving area is carried out. The accentuation device can, for example, control a heads-up display and/or a monitor integrated into the vehicle window and/or a headlight.
