An information display apparatus according to an embodiment includes a first display unit configured to display information, a placement part including a noncontact charging unit configured to charge the placed portable terminal apparatus, an orientation determination unit configured to determine an orientation of the placed portable terminal apparatus, a first display control unit, and a charging control unit. The charging control unit controls the noncontact charging unit so as to perform a process for charging the portable terminal apparatus when the portable terminal apparatus is placed on the placement part. The first display control unit displays information to be displayed in the first display unit while changing the information according to whether the orientation of the portable terminal apparatus determined by the orientation determination unit is a first orientation or a second orientation different from the first orientation.

An electric vehicle (EV) can include a VIC in operable communication with the EV main computer and the EV infotainment system. The VIC can include a processor, a memory in operable communication with the processor, and a computer-readable medium in operable communication with the processor and having software, such as a hypervisor, stored thereon. The VIC can be configured to have internet connectivity.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING CONTENT TO A USER BASED ON A PREDICTED ROUTE IDENTIFIED FROM AUDIO OR IMAGES
20200294092 · 2020-09-17 · ·

Embodiments are directed towards providing a system that presents content to a user of a vehicle based on where the vehicle is going. A microphone captures audio signals within the vehicle, which are analyzed for route information. These audible commands may be said by a person in the vehicle, such as a passenger telling the driver where to turn, or they may be received from a mobile computing device, such as a smartphone executing a map application that is providing audible directions. An anticipated route of the vehicle is determined based on the audible route information. Content is selected and presented to the user of the vehicle based on the anticipated route. Images of a display screen of the mobile computing device may also be analyzed to identify the route information.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IDENTIFYING A TYPE OF VEHICLE OCCUPANT BASED ON LOCATIONS OF A PORTABLE DEVICE
20200290626 · 2020-09-17 ·

A system and method for identifying a type of vehicle occupant based on locations of a portable device that include receiving a plurality of communication signals from the portable device. The system and method also include evaluating received signal strength measurements of the plurality of communication signals to determine the locations of the portable device as the portable device is moved from an external surrounding area of a vehicle to an interior portion of the vehicle and identifying the type of vehicle occupant as a driver of the vehicle or a non-driving occupant of the vehicle based on the locations of the portable device. The system and method further include controlling at least one vehicle system by executing vehicle settings associated with the type of vehicle occupant.

VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM, VEHICLE CONTROL METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

A vehicle control system includes: a recognizer configured to recognize a surrounding environment of a vehicle; a driving controller configured to perform at least one of speed control and steering control of the vehicle according to a recognition result of the recognizer; and a receiver configured to receive a trigger transmitted from a vehicle exterior device in response to occurrence of a predetermined event to a user who is outside of the vehicle. The driving controller is configured to cause the vehicle to automatically travel to a boarding position of the user in response to the reception of the trigger by the receiver.

Sound output and text display device for a vehicle

A sound output and text display device for a vehicle, including: an output unit that, in a case in which sound to be output inside the vehicle has been decided, outputs the sound inside the vehicle; and a display unit that displays text corresponding to the sound on a windshield in accordance with a state of use of the vehicle.

Image analysis technologies for assessing safety of vehicle operation

Systems and methods for using image analysis techniques to assess unsafe driving conditions by a vehicle operator are discloses. According to aspects, a computing device may access and analyze image data depicting the vehicle operator. In analyzing the image, the computing device may measure certain visible metrics as depicted in the image data and compare the metrics to corresponding threshold values, and may accordingly determine whether the vehicle operator is exhibiting an unsafe driving condition. The computing device may generate and present alerts that indicate any determined unsafe driving condition.

Driver performance measurement and monitoring with path analysis

A method for performing driver performance comparisons is enabled, e.g., via in-vehicle capture of performance data from multiple vehicles or drivers. The performance comparisons are enabled via a geohash-based path analysis.

PROVIDING A COMMUNICATIONS CHANNEL BETWEEN INSTANCES OF AUTOMATED ASSISTANTS

Implementations relate to interactions, over a wireless communication modality, between an automated assistant of an automobile computer system, and separate client device(s). In some of those implementations, the client device(s) can be paired with the automobile computer system, and the client device(s) and the automobile computer system can include separate instances of an automated assistant, which can be associated with different user accounts. In some additional or alternative implementations, particular actions to be performed by a local application of a client device can be advanced via user interaction with the automobile automated assistant, despite a counterpart to the local application not being installed directly on automobile computer system. For example, despite an automobile computer system not having a third-party messaging application installed, the automobile automated assistant can access requested actions to be performed by the third-party messaging application in order to further a requested action. The automobile computer system can transmit, via the wireless communication modality, content to cause the third-party application to further the requested action.

VEHICLE CONTROL DEVICE, VEHICLE CONTROL METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

A vehicle control device is a vehicle control device mounted in a vehicle and includes an information provider configured to transmit information on a route from a parking position to a boarding position of the vehicle to a terminal device.
