A multi-function input apparatus of a steering wheel that includes an outer dial having a planar surface and a center dial having a capacitive surface such that the center dial is responsive to capacitive touch along the capacitive surface. The center dial being disposed within the outer dial and the outer dial is rotatable about a rotation axis independent of the center dial such that the center dial is rotatably fixed when the outer dial rotates. The outer dial including a recessed portion positioned along the planar surface such that the recessed portion is rotatable about the center dial. The recessed portion of the outer dial is translatable along the rotation axis.
Operating device for a motor vehicle
The operating device for a vehicle comprises a capacitively operating touch panel having an upper face with a touch sensitive surface, and an operating unit having a movable operating element which can be grasped manually and has an electrically conductive surface and a plate shaped holding element, provided with an upper face and a lower face facing away from the upper face, on which the operating element is movably arranged and which for its part is arranged on the touch-sensitive surface of the upper face of the touch panel. The operating element comprises at least one wiper, electrically connected to the electrically conductive surface of the operating element, sliding along a sensing path of the upper face of the holding element when the operating element is moved. The holding element comprises alternately successively arranged first sections and second sections along the sensing path. The upper and lower face of the holding element are connected to each other in an electrically conductive manner in each of the first sections and are electrically insulated from each other in each of the second sections.
Docks, computing devices, methods for controlling a dock, and methods for controlling a computing device
According to various embodiments, a dock may be provided. The dock may include: a first attachment member configured to attach to an external item; a second attachment member configured to receive a computing device; and a scroll wheel configured to provide user input to the computing device.
Vehicular manipulation apparatus
A vehicular manipulation apparatus, which manipulates a different apparatus, includes a manipulation unit, a communication unit, a display unit, and a controller. The manipulation unit accepts a manipulation and inputs a set value step-by-step for controlling the different apparatus. The communication unit communicates with the different apparatus, transmits manipulation information to the different apparatus, and receives a set value of the different apparatus. The display unit digitally displays the set value. The controller controls an image on the display unit using the set value. In displaying change due to the manipulation step-by-step, the controller broadens a change width between steps in cases where the manipulation amount within a threshold period of time is equal to or greater than a threshold manipulation amount, as compared with cases where the manipulation amount within the threshold period of time is less than the threshold manipulation amount.
VEHICLE CONTROL DEVICE, VEHICLE, AND VEHICLE CONTROL METHOD
A vehicle control device includes an operation detection unit detecting an operation input to an operation input unit capable of being used when increasing or decreasing a travel speed of a host vehicle, when initiating a following control with respect to a preceding vehicle, or when reinitiating the following control with respect to the preceding vehicle, and a lane change control unit performing a lane change control based on the operation input detected by the operation detection unit. In the case that a first operation input is performed, the lane change control unit performs a lane change into a first lane located on one side of a host vehicle lane where the host vehicle is traveling, whereas in the case that a second operation input is performed, the lane change control unit performs a lane change into a second lane located on another side of the host vehicle lane.
MULTI-FUNCTION VEHICLE INPUT APPARATUSES WITH ROTATABLE DIALS FOR VEHICLE SYSTEMS CONTROL AND METHODS INCORPORATING THE SAME
A multi-function input apparatus of a steering wheel that includes an outer dial having a planar surface and a center dial having a capacitive surface such that the center dial is responsive to capacitive touch along the capacitive surface.
Method and apparatus for adaptively providing indication associated with input in vehicle
An electronic device attachable to a vehicle may include an interface, an input device is provided. The electronic device includes a display, and a processor configured to detect that a context related to the vehicle corresponds to a first context based on first information received via the interface, in response to the detection that the context related to the vehicle corresponds to the first context, display a first indication indicating a first function corresponding to the first context from among a plurality of functions of the vehicle, which are controllable by the input device, while displaying the first indication, detect that the context related to the vehicle changed from the first context to a second context based on second information received via the interface, and based on the detection, display a second indication which is changed from the first indication and indicates a second function corresponding to the second context.
TOUCH INPUT DEVICE AND VEHICLE INCLUDING THE SAME
A touch input device includes a touch unit to which a user can input a touch gesture, wherein the touch unit includes a gesture input unit positioned at a center of the touch unit and a swiping input unit inclined downward along an edge of the gesture input unit, and the gesture input unit and the swiping input unit receive separate touch signals.
VEHICLE DISPLAY SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE
A vehicle display system for a vehicle, the vehicle display system including: a display device including at least one display; at least one processor; and at least one computer memory that is operably connectable to the at least one processor and that has stored thereon instructions which, when executed, cause the at least one processor to perform operations including: acquiring sitting position data of a user in the vehicle; and providing a control signal to adjust a viewing angle of the at least one display in accordance with the sitting position data of the user.
Method and apparatus for controlling vehicle using dial knob
A method of controlling a vehicle using a dial knob includes steps of generating a first numerical value obtained by numeralizing a degree of rotation of the dial knob in a first direction and storing operation data reflecting the first numerical value, controlling the vehicle using control data, if the stored operation data corresponds to the control data, generating a second numerical value obtained by numeralizing a degree of rotation of the dial knob in a second direction opposite to the first direction and storing operation data reflecting the second numerical value, if the operation data does not correspond to the control data, and controlling the vehicle using the control data if the stored operation data corresponds to the control data, and returning to the step of generating the first numerical value if the operation data does not correspond to the control data.
