A computing device may implement a method for optimizing data display placement within display units. The method includes obtaining dimensions of an available display area within a display unit, and determining an irregular shape representative of the available display area based on the dimensions. The method further includes generating a second shape that is representative of a data display, wherein the second shape is smaller than the irregular shape, and translating the second shape within the irregular shape until the second shape is at a location within the irregular shape. All edges of the second shape are contained within the irregular shape at the location. The method further includes rendering the data display at the location within the available display area.

A control unit of the interface is configured to select a handwritten recognition mode as a character input mode when the touch part is touched, and select a dial operation mode as the character input mode when the dial part is operated, thereby improving user convenience.
Operator control system for a motor vehicle
An operator control system includes switches, RFID transponders, and a RFID reader. Each switch has a cap support and a switch cap. The switch caps are respectively interchangeably attachable to the cap supports. The RFID transponders are respectively attached to the switch caps. Each RFID transponder stores a respective piece of information identifying a respective control function so that the switch cap to which the RFID transponder is attached is associated with the respective control function. The RFID reader is arranged on at least one of the switches for reading the piece of information of at least one of the RFID transponders.

A vehicle dashboard structure is provided. A steering unit of a vehicle is provided with a screen-included dashboard. The screen-included dashboard includes a screen-based display zone, which is operable to display different message modes. The steering unit includes a steering grip, which is provided with a control operator seat, which is provided with a control operator module that is operable to control the screen-based display zone for switching of the different message displaying mode. As such, one the one hand, switching of the display mode contents of the screen-based display zone is made easy to ensure riding safety of a rider, and on the other hand, the space of the control operator seat that is provided on the steering grip can be better used.

An electronic device includes a housing, a display at least partially within the housing, a cover positioned over the display and defining an input surface of the electronic device, a motion sensing system configured to detect a motion of the electronic device, and a touch sensor configured to detect, within a time window after the motion of the electronic device is detected, a contact of an input member of a user on the input surface of the electronic device. The electronic device is configured to determine, for a time prior to the detection of the contact, a relative motion between the input member and the input surface. In accordance with a determination that a characteristic of the relative motion satisfies a threshold condition, the electronic device may determine a second input location based at least in part on the location of the contact and the relative motion.

An apparatus with display control includes: an input part configured to receive position information of an in-vehicle device; a memory in which a program that implements display position control according to the position information is stored; and a processor configured to adjust a display position of information displayed on a display in a vehicle, according to the position information, by executing the program.
