The method includes determining a target mechanically actuatable HMI of the vehicle in the captured image. The method includes obtaining HMI information about the target mechanically actuatable HMI. The method includes determining, from the vehicle, a current mechanical actuation status of the target mechanically actuatable HMI. The method includes generating an augmented reality image having the HMI information and the current mechanical actuation status of the mechanically actuatable HMI. The method includes sending the augmented reality image to a display device.

After the passenger connects the portable device to the passenger display, the passenger may be enabled to control the portable device by providing inputs through the passenger display and/or the portable device. In some embodiments, the passenger may be enabled to control one or more in-vehicle devices through the portable device after it is connected to the passenger display.

The meter harness supplies the power with at least the analog display unit, the liquid crystal display unit, the meter circuit board, and the communication unit, and they have a common power conduction path at the outside of the housing.

For example, despite an automobile computer system not having a third-party messaging application installed, the automobile automated assistant can access requested actions to be performed by the third-party messaging application in order to further a requested action. The automobile computer system can transmit, via the wireless communication modality, content to cause the third-party application to further the requested action.
