A surface cleaning apparatus includes a vapor dispensing system and a recovery system. The vapor dispensing system may include a vapor generator and a vapor outlet that dispenses vapor toward a brushroll in order to wet the brushroll and clean a surface. Methods for operating a surface cleaning apparatus with a vapor dispensing system are also provided.

A cleaning, sanitizing or disinfecting scrubbing device includes a body, a non-thermal plasma generator and damp wipe. Generated plasma activates fluid in the wipe. The device may include spacer posts between the body and wipe and a conductive mesh between the body and wipe or embedded in the wipe. Another embodiment includes a reservoir for holding a water- based fluid, a fluid delivery element connected to the reservoir by a tube through which the fluid can flow and a non-thermal plasma geneator. The non-thermal plasma generator activates the fluid. In one embodiment the scrubbing device is a mitt. In another embodiment the scrubbing device is a glove.

An extraction cleaner is provided with a removable recovery tank having a drain opening quick-empty valve and actuator assembly for emptying the tank. The actuator assembly may include a quick-release latch for a bottom-empty door or a drain plug for sealing the drain opening. The quick-release latch may include a button remote from the door or drain plug.

The invention relates to a method of automatic dishwashing in a dishwasher having a wash tank, comprising: in a first step, delivering a first composition to dishware in the tank in the form of a mist; and afterwards, in a second step, delivering a second composition to the dishware in the tank in the form of a jet; wherein the first and second compositions are different, the first composition comprises a bleach, and the second composition is alkaline and comprises a builder. The invention also provides a dishwasher adapted to carry out the inventive method.

The dishwasher includes: a tub defining a washing space; a sump disposed below the tub and configured to store wash water therein; a pump configured to supply the wash water stored in the sump to the tub; and a spray arm configured to supply wash water flowing from the pump to the washing space. The spray arm includes: a spray blade configured to spray wash water into the washing space; a bubble generator having therein a bubble generation flow path of a venturi tube shape and configured to supply wash water containing a microbubble to the washing space; and a hub configured to supply wash water discharged from the pump to the spray blade or the bubble generator. The spray arm sprays wash water through the spray blade while simultaneously generating a microbubble through the bubble generator.
