Hybrid vehicle drive system and method and idle reduction system and method
One embodiment relates to a hybrid vehicle drive system for a vehicle including a first prime mover, a first prime mover driven transmission, a rechargeable power source, and a PTO. The hybrid vehicle drive system can include a control system for reducing or eliminating regenerative braking during a traction control or anti-lock braking event.
Cooling system
A cooling system includes a shared path; a first path connected to the shared path and having a first pump and a first heat exchanger exchanging heat with an inverter; a second path connected to the shared path in parallel with the first path and having a second pump and a second heat exchanger exchanging heat with a battery. The first and second paths are configured to be able to switch a flow state between a first state where the heat media flow through the shared path, and a second state where one of the heat media does not flow through the shared path. The control device controls the outputs of the pumps so that when switching the flow state between the first and second states, flow rate of the heat medium flowing through the first path becomes temporarily larger than the target flow rate.
Induction charging device
The present disclosure describes an induction charging device for a partially or fully electrically operated motor vehicle. The induction charging device includes at least one charging coil and a temperature-control assembly including a fluid pipe for a liquid fluid. The charging coil is inductively couplable to a primary coil such that a battery can be inductively charged in the motor vehicle. The charging coil is heat-transmittingly connected to the fluid pipe such that the waste heat from the charging coil can be transmitted to the fluid. The induction charging device further includes a metal shielding plate for shielding electromagnetic field emissions, and a ferrite assembly for directing an electromagnetic alternating field. The charging coil is arranged in the fluid pipe such that the fluid can flow around it on all sides. The charging coil is secured in the fluid pipe directly or via a retaining device.
HEAT PUMP SYSTEM CONTROL METHOD FOR VEHICLE
A control method of a heat pump system for a vehicle may include a first cooling apparatus having a first radiator, a first water pump, an electrical component, a valve, and a branch line, which are connected by a first coolant line and circulate a first coolant by the first water pump to the electrical component; a second cooling apparatus including a second radiator and a second water pump connected by a second coolant line; and an air conditioning apparatus including a compressor, a heater, an expansion valve, and a heat exchanger which are connected by a refrigerant line circulated with a refrigerant.
Electric Vehicle Wind Turbine System
A system for generating electricity using wind power for an electric vehicle (EV). The system converts wind to electricity for charging the EV's primary batteries, or to provide supplemental electricity to other EV systems, such as heating and cooling. The system comprises an air intake that compresses air along a narrowing path to a turbine component. The turbine component comprises a cylinder housing a turbine for capturing the compressed air. As the turbine rotates due to airflow, it engages at least one alternator to generate electricity. The at least one alternator is then connected to the EV's batteries or other vehicle systems for charging or immediate use.
CHARGING AND HEATING CIRCUIT AND VEHICLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM HAVING A CHARGING AND HEATING CIRCUIT
A charging and heating circuit is equipped with an AC voltage connection, a DC voltage connection and a rectifier. The rectifier is connected between the AC voltage connection and the DC voltage connection. The charging and heating circuit further includes a heating resistor which is connected to the rectifier and the rectifier is thereby set up to supply the heating resistor with current. Also described is a vehicle electrical system which includes the charging and heating circuit in addition to an accumulator.
VEHICLE ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, VEHICLE COMPRISING SUCH VEHICLE ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING VEHICLE ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
A vehicle energy management system connectable to a vehicle and configured to control a valve arrangement to deliver a flow of pressurized air to a heat receiving structure when the vehicle is operated in a vehicle braking mode and a temperature level of the heat receiving structure is below a maximum limit of a predetermined temperature range.
Electric vehicle thermal system with waste heat recovery
A thermal system for a vehicle includes a high temperature coolant loop thermally coupled to a heater core, a low temperature coolant loop thermally coupled to at least one of an electric motor and power electronics, and a first four-way valve configured to selectively fluidly couple the high temperature coolant loop and the low temperature coolant loop such that coolant heated by the electric motor and/or the power electronics is directed to the heater core to facilitate heating of an airflow passing thereby.
METHODS AND SYSTEM FOR THERMAL MANAGEMENT OF AN ELECTRIC ENERGY STORAGE DEVICE
Methods and systems for controlling a temperature of an electric energy storage device of via a cooling device are disclosed. In one example, a temperature of an electric energy storage device may be permitted to increase when a vehicle is within a threshold distance of an expected parking location of the vehicle so that less electrical energy of the electric energy storage device may be consumed.
