Absorbing power down energy of an external motor device in a power generation vehicle
A vehicle includes a traction battery and a controller. The controller, in response to termination of current flow from the traction battery to a tool that is plugged in to the vehicle that results in shutting down of the tool, actuates a switch such that current resulting from the shutting down flows from the tool to the traction battery for regenerative energy capture.
Motor vehicle with a fuel cell
The fuel cell system of a motor vehicle has a fuel cell, comprising an anode side and a cathode side, a compressor, which is rotationally connected to a motor and connected by a feed line to the cathode side of the fuel cell, and a turbine, which is connected by an exhaust air line to the cathode side and which furthermore is rotationally connected only to a generator, which is connected at the output side to a second inverter and a low-voltage battery.
Transport refrigeration unit with a renewable energy source and method of operation
A method of operating a multiple energy source of a transport refrigeration unit determines if the transport refrigeration unit is at idle. The method may then electrically switch a condenser fan motor from an electrical power source to a battery charging circuit. The condenser fan motor may be back-driven via wind blowing through a condenser fan. Electrical power is thereby generated and applied to charge a battery via a battery charging circuit.
POWER REGENERATION SYSTEM OF WORK VEHICLE
A power regeneration system of a work vehicle includes: a first generator (12) and a second generator (31) that are driven by an engine (11); a first electric circuit (C1) for supplying electric power to traveling motors (10L, 10R); a second electric circuit (C2) for supplying electric power to an auxiliary device (35); a voltage step down converter (21) providing electric power from the first electric circuit to the second electric circuit; and a controller (51) that determines whether a travel mode of the work vehicle is a powering mode or a regeneration mode in order to control driving of the voltage step down converter. If the travel mode is the regeneration mode, the controller provides the regenerative power from the first electric circuit through the voltage step down converter to the second electric circuit, in order to drive the auxiliary device with the regenerative power.
Battery management systems and methods
A lift device comprises a base, a linear actuator, and a rechargeable battery system. The linear actuator is configured to selectively move a work platform between a raised position and a lowered position. The linear actuator includes an electric motor. The rechargeable battery system includes a battery, a heating system, and a battery charger. The battery is configured to power the electric motor of the linear actuator. The battery charger is configured to simultaneously charge the battery and provide power the heating system to heat the battery.
PROVIDING ON-DEMAND POWER CHARGING FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES
An on-demand power service provides electrical vehicle charging. Requesting the on-demand power service may include determining a current location of a computing device, determining an amount of power requested by a user of the computing device, and locating a plurality of mobile charging stations within a predefined geographic distance from the current location of the computing device. The method further includes receiving a price associated with each respective mobile charging station among the plurality of mobile charging stations, and providing on a display of the computing device, selectable options to purchase on-demand power from a mobile charging station among the plurality of mobile charging stations.
Power distributor unit for a utility vehicle and utility vehicle comprising said power distributor unit
A power distribution includes first and second inputs, first and second outputs, and a third output configured to connect to a low-voltage vehicle power supply, a high-voltage distributor is connected to the first input and forms the connection between the energy storage and further components of the power distribution. A controller monitors at least the high-voltage distributor and can control components of the power distribution. At least one inverter is arranged in the current path between the high-voltage distributor and at least one of the contacts for the first output, the second output or the second input, a first converter is arranged between the high-voltage distributor and the third output and converts a DC voltage provided by the high-voltage distributor to a lower DC voltage.

AERODYNAMIC TRACTOR-TRAILER
A tractor-trailer is disclosed, with associated apparatuses. A tractor may include a tractor air duct disposed underneath a cab. The tractor air duct may extend between a front opening at a front of the tractor and a rear opening at a rear of the tractor. A trailer may include a duct system that receives airflow from the rear opening of the tractor air duct and directs the airflow to a location behind a cargo compartment. An air distributor may be disposed behind the cargo compartment. An air distributor may include a fairing with openings, so that airflow from the duct system enters a space between the cargo compartment and the fairing, and exits the openings behind the trailer.
