DRIVE UNIT FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLE
Drive units for electric vehicles are provided. One example provides a drive unit for an electric vehicle including a first housing section forming a first compartment to house an electrical inverter and a second housing section forming a second compartment to house an electric motor. The drive unit housing further includes an inlet port to receive a fluid and a shared wall separating the first compartment and the second compartment. The shared wall defines fluid pathways in fluid communication with the inlet port to circulate the fluid to cool the electrical inverter. The drive unit also includes an outlet port in fluid communication with the fluid pathways to discharge the fluid.
ELECTRIC MARINE PROPULSION SYSTEM AND CONTROL METHOD
A method of controlling an electric marine propulsion system configured to propel a marine vessel includes receiving a user-set distance, identifying a battery charge level of a power storage system on a marine vessel and identifying an energy utilization value. An output limit is then determined based on a remaining distance, the battery charge level, and the energy utilization value. The propulsion system is then automatically controlled so as to not exceed the output limit, enabling the marine vessel to travel the user-set distance without recharging the power storage system.

PULSE MODULATED CONTROL WITH FIELD WEAKENING FOR IMPROVED MACHINE EFFICIENCY
Modulated pulse control of electric machines to deliver a desired output in a more energy efficient manner by either (a) operating the electric machine in a continuous mode when a requested torque demand is greater than the peak efficiency torque of the electric machine or (b) in a pulsed modulation mode when the requested torque demand is less than the peak efficiency torque of the electric machine. When operating in the pulsed modulation mode, the inverter may be deactivated to further improve the system efficiency when field weakening is not required to mitigate or eliminate generation of a retarding torque in situations when Back Electromagnetic Force (BEMF) exceeds a supply voltage for the inverter of the machine.

Hybrid powertrain system and method
A hybrid powertrain system and method includes a prime mover driving a generator/motor to produce an AC power output. The AC power output is applied to a rectifier which is controlled to transform the applied AC power to DC power to supply a DC Power bus at a selected voltage and current. An energy storage device is also connected to the DC power bus and the current flow between the energy storage device and the DC power bus is monitored and compared to preselected values and the results of that comparison are used to alter the operation of the rectifier to increase or decrease, as needed, the current provided to the DC power bus as electrical loads on the DC power bus change.
Farm-based predictive efficient drive
Methods, systems, devices and apparatuses for a vehicle control system. The vehicle control system includes a memory. The memory is configured to store multiple charging events that activate multiple charging plans. The vehicle control system includes a navigation unit that is configured to obtain a current location of the vehicle. The vehicle control system includes an electronic control unit. The electronic control unit is configured to determine that the vehicle is within a threshold distance of the first charging event. The electronic control unit is configured to control an operation of the vehicle to prepare the vehicle to charge or discharge the battery based on a first charging plan when the vehicle is within the threshold distance of a first charging event.
