A system and method for washing items with water, includes a water inlet and a container for receiving the items to be washed. The system comprises a water purification apparatus for purifying water introduced through said water inlet to produce purified water. The water purification apparatus comprises at least one filter for filtering off particulate solids, a reverse osmosis device, and at least one deionizing filter. The system further comprises a reservoir for storing purified water produced by the water purification apparatus, said reservoir being connected to said water purification apparatus and said container, so that the items are washable inside the container with the purified water.

A surface cleaning apparatus, such as a steam mop, includes a steam delivery system having a steam delivery pathway. A fragrance dispenser for receiving a fragrant material is provided on the apparatus, and a portion of the steam delivery pathway is in heat exchange relationship with the fragrance dispenser to heat the fragrant material in the fragrance dispenser by heat transfer from the steam in the pathway. Fragrance is dispensed from apparatus via heat transfer utilizing the steam pathway as a thermal radiation source.

A system (10) for washing items (12) with water, comprising a water inlet (18) and a container (13) for receiving the items (12) to be washed. The system (10) comprises a water purification apparatus (19) for purifying water introduced through said water inlet (18) to produce purified water. The water purification apparatus (19) comprises at least one filter (25, 29, 30) for filtering off particulate solids, a reverse osmosis device (26), and at least one deionizing filter (27, 31). The system (10) further comprises a reservoir (20) for storing purified water produced by the water purification apparatus (19), said reservoir (20) being connected to said water purification apparatus (19) and said container (13), so that the items (12) are washable inside the container (11) with the purified water. Disclosed is also a method for washing items.

A surface cleaning apparatus, such as a steam mop, includes a steam delivery system having a steam delivery pathway. Disclosed herein is useful as a stored object detector and a method of detecting stored objects configured to capture an image a movable storage portion, and objects stored in the storage portion, and configured to acquire storage information including at least one of position, size and quantity of the stored object based on the captured image. In addition, disclosed herein is a dishwasher configured to identify at least storage area of dish stored in a dish storage basket. It is possible to estimate a position of a basket, although the number of feature points is small. Therefore, when installing a detection indicator corresponding to the feature point, which is separated from the general configuration, to the basket, it is not required to install a large number of detection indicator, and thus it is possible to improve the appearance of the dishwasher. In addition, since it is possible to use the configuration that is generally installed in the basket, as the feature point, it is not required to additionally install the detection indicator and thus it is possible to improve the appearance of the dishwasher.

A heavy duty washing apparatus for cleaning cooking substrates including hotplates and grills comprising: a. a self-contained housing allowing readily movability; b. a plurality of functionally interconnected stations for receiving supply of water, a chemical cleaning agent composition and a pressurised fluid; c. a pressurising station and a temperature conditioning station; d. a foam generator in the housing using controlling feeds from the plurality of interconnected stations and functionally engaging with the pressurising station and the temperature conditioning station for providing an effective chemical cleaning agent composition for conditioning one or more of the supply of water, the chemical cleaning agent composition and the pressurised fluid and e. a washing compartment adapted to receive one or more of the cooking substrates in a stackable substantially planar spaced array; wherein the effective chemical cleaning agent composition allows for cleaning over an effective cleaning time in a chemical, aerobic and physical manner cooking residues on the cooking substrates by retaining of said foam layer for a predetermined period in contact with the cooking surfaces, and rinsing the foam layer with preselected conditioned high temperature and/or pressurised water to remove chemical and food residues.

A method of cleaning dishware in a low temperature fill-and-dump dishwashing machine wherein the detergent composition doused in the wash cycle comprises sanitizer mitigator and enzymes, and the rinse cycle comprises sanitizer and rinse aid.

A warewash machine for washing wares includes a housing defining a chamber for receiving wares, the chamber having an inlet end, an outlet end, multiple liquid spray zones between the inlet end and the outlet end, and a conveyor for moving wares along a conveyance path through the multiple liquid spray zones in a ware travel direction, the multiple liquid spray zones including a main wash zone and a final rinse zone. An intermediate zone is located, relative to the ware travel direction, after the main wash zone and before the final rinse zone. The intermediate zone includes a blowoff system including multiple blowoff nozzles that direct non-liquid flows onto wares to move residual detergent solution and soils from the wares as the wares move through the intermediate zone. A batch-type machine could also be provided with an intermediate non-liquid blowoff step.

A dishwasher provided that may include a washing chamber, a rack adapted to accommodate items to be washed by washing liquid within the washing chamber, an arm, and an arm moving arrangement arranged to move the arm within the washing chamber. The arm may include at least one washing liquid removing element arranged to touch at least one of the rack and washing liquid at the rack upon movement of the arm to remove the washing liquid from the rack. The embodiments herein also relate to method for removing washing liquid from a rack of a dishwasher.

Method and apparatus for treating dishware, in which the method comprises the steps of providing a treatment composition comprising a photoactive component, contacting in an appliance the treatment composition with the dishware, and irradiating the treatment composition with visible light. The step of irradiating the treatment composition with visible light is performed with a source of light that is tool free insertable into and removable from the appliance.
