Circumferential flux electric machine with field weakening mechanisms and methods of use
There are presented various embodiments disclosed in this application, including methods and systems of arranging permanent magnets to switch from a first configuration designed for a first torque output to a second configuration designed for a second torque output.
Power control unit and method of assembling the same
A power control unit is disposed on a transaxle case and includes: a plurality of semiconductor devices; an electronic circuit board including a soldered portion for attaching the plurality of semiconductor devices; and a PCU case formed to house the plurality of semiconductor devices and the electronic circuit board. The PCU case includes a support member to which the plurality of semiconductor devices are attached, and an upper cover forming at least a part of an upper surface of the PCU case. The upper cover includes a first component and one or more second components having a lower rigidity than the first component. The electronic circuit board is attached to the first component. The soldered portion is arranged on a surface of the electronic circuit board on the upper cover side. At least one of the one or more second components is arranged to cover the soldered portion.
AN INTEGRATED THREE-PHASE AC CHARGER FOR VEHICLE APPLICATIONS WITH DUAL-INVERTER DRIVE
A powertrain for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle applications with integrated three-phase AC charging featuring buck-boost operation and optional vehicle-to-grid (V2G) capability, along with corresponding methods and machine instruction sets for switch control. The powertrain can include of a three-phase current source converter (CSC) front-end with an associated input filter, a polarity inversion module, and in an embodiment, a dual-inverter motor drive. The dual-inverter drive is the source of both the back emf and requisite DC inductance for the CSC. A compact design is thus provided as no additional magnetics are required and the on-board cooling system required for traction mode can be re-deployed for charging and V2G mode. The powertrain is mode shifted between charging and V2G mode through an optional polarity inversion module.
Machine for augmentation, storage, and conservation of vehicle motive energy
A device for addition of motive force to a vehicle, with rotor-plate, rotor-arms, rotor permanent magnets, stator-plate, stator columns, stator electromagnets, and battery, cell, or other energy storage device. The device is retro-fittable on existing wheel assemblies, and installation coverts an internal combustion vehicle to a hybrid with electric propulsion.
Systems for the aggregation of data with an electrically motorized vehicle
A system, method, and device for operations of an electrically motorized vehicle. The vehicle can utilize an electrically motorized wheel to convert a non-motorized wheeled vehicle to an electrically motorized wheeled vehicle. One system includes a server in communication with the device of each of a plurality of electrically motorized wheels, the server operable to track a position of each of the electrically motorized wheels and communicate the position thereof to a transportation network.
Wheel assembly
A wheel assembly includes an attachment module, a motor module, a battery module, and a wheel. The wheel is rotatably coupled to the attachment module about a rotational axis of the wheel. The attachment module has a plurality of coupling elements, and the motor module and the battery module each releasably couple to one of the coupling elements. The wheel extends around the attachment, motor, and battery modules. The motor and battery modules are identically shaped in a direction along the rotational axis.
Sensor unit, motor unit, and vehicle
A sensor unit includes a shaft having a hollow portion and a torque sensor that is arranged inside the hollow portion and detects torsional torque acting on the shaft from inside the shaft. A motor unit can include the sensor unit and a drive motor. A vehicle can include the motor unit. A drive motor can be a traction motor that generates a traction drive force for the vehicle, for example.
Hybrid variable reluctance motor propulsion system
An improved vehicle propulsion system using a hybrid variable reluctance motor (VRM) system which allows for: diversified power sources for typical roadway vehicles, and gradual fleet and roadway implementation. In one embodiment, all of the components that are required for a typical vehicle to use the hybrid VRM system can be intergraded in a non-obstructive manner into typical vehicle components. In one embodiment, the vehicle operator selectively determines the amount of propulsive energy that comes from the on-board engine and the amount that comes from the VRM system.
Electric machine end turn channels
An electric machine includes a stator with a core having an end face and a plurality of conductors forming windings that extend adjacent to the end face defining end turns having a toroidal outline. The end turns are formed to define at least one channel in the end turns that traverses the end turns for increasing a surface area for fluid contact and directing a flow of fluid along the toroidal surface.
Movement device provided with cylindrical rotating bodies
To provide a moving apparatus including cylindrical rotating bodies each having a surface section that functions as a driving wheel or a working member. A moving apparatus includes three or more cylindrical rotating bodies, and a plurality of coupling members, each of which couples two of the cylindrical rotating bodies together such that an angle between the cylindrical rotating bodies is smaller than 180°, where each of the three or more cylindrical rotating bodies includes a motor, and an exterior body configured to be rotated by the motor, where the three or more cylindrical rotating bodies are configured to form a closed polygonal shape to hold an elongated member R including a rope, whereby the moving apparatus is movable along the elongated member.
