Method for controlling a security system of a charging station for charging electric vehicles
The invention relates to a method for controlling a security system of a charging station for charging electric vehicles, the security system comprising the following elements: a charging plug, the charging plug comprising a sensor unit for recording biometric data of a user that are used for authenticating the user on the security system, and a control unit for evaluating biometric data of the user. For this purpose, according to the invention, the control unit extracts a plurality of features from the biometric data of the user, and the control unit evaluates the features of the biometric data in a plurality of stages.
Secure electric vehicle charger and system incorporating thereof
Systems and methods for secure electric vehicle (EV) charging are provided. One embodiment includes an EV charger, where the EV charger includes a power management unit, a processor, a low power short range point-to-point communication system, a memory containing an authentication software application, where the processor is configured by the authentication software application to receive an authentication request from a mobile device via the low power short range point-to-point communication system, send encrypted EV charger access credentials to the mobile device, receive a digital token from the mobile device, verify the digital token, and initiate a charging session based upon a command contained within the digital token.
Method and Apparatus for Parking Lot Metering
A method and apparatus for parking lot metering. The present invention allows multi-space meters to separately manage and control premium parking spaces, such as those for charging electric vehicles or those which supply electric power for engine block heaters in both pay-by-space and pay-an-display systems. Such premium spaces can be managed together over large areas (e.g., a city or region), or may be managed over smaller areas (e.g., the domain of an individual kiosk), or individually per parking space. Management includes pricing, time limits, hours, seasons of operation, and restrictions by vehicle type, and alternative pricing and restrictions for non-premium hours.
BATTERY CHARGING MODULE, BATTERY EXCHANGE DEVICE, AND BATTERY DEVICE
Provided is a battery share system in which a necessary change in the scale of a battery exchange device can be made with ease and at low cost even after the start of operating a service. A plurality of battery charging modules for holding a battery pack are attached to a support post to form a battery exchange apparatus. A battery charging module is detachably attached to the support post. A battery charging module includes a tray for guiding the battery pack to a predetermined mounting position and holding the battery pack at the mounting position. The tray includes a power transmitter terminal for transmitting charging power to the battery pack, a communication terminal for transmitting battery management information from the battery pack, and an indicator for indicating a state-of-charge of the battery pack.
Vehicle including electric motor and method of controlling brake lamp for the same
A vehicle including an electric motor has improved operating performance of a brake lamp using regenerative braking. A method of controlling a brake lamp of the vehicle includes determining a tendency of a driver, calculating a corrected mass based on the determined tendency of the driver, and calculating corrected acceleration based on the corrected mass and regenerative braking torque of the electric motor. An on threshold is corrected based on a difference between a requested torque and the regenerative braking torque at a time at which an accelerator pedal is released, and the brake lamp is turned on based on the corrected on threshold and the corrected acceleration.
CHARGING POLE
The invention relates to a method for generating and delivering charging current for an electric vehicle in a charging pole with the method steps of registering a first initial process, evaluating the first initial process, starting the charging process depending on the evaluation result, wherein the first initial process is different from a start command of a user for starting a charging process, and a charging pole for carrying out the method.
ELECTRIC VEHICLE (EV) CHARGE UNIT RESERVATIONS
A computer implemented method for managing charge availability of a charge unit (CU) to obtain charge for a battery of an electric vehicle (EV) is provided. The CU includes a computer for processing at least part of the method and for communicating with a server over a network. The method includes receiving, by the server, status information from the computer of the CU. The method includes sending to the computer of the CU instructions to make a reservation for the CU. The reservation is for a user account that has requested a desire to charge the battery of the electric vehicle of the user at the CU or another CU. The method includes sending, by the server, a confirmation for the reservation to the user account. The confirmation is viewable via a device having access to the server via the user account. The method includes sending, by the server, a data regarding a time of availability of the CU to the user account for the reservation. The computer of the CU is configured to display a visual indicator regarding the reservation of the CU.
Apparatus, method and article for authentication, security and control of portable charging devices and power storage devices, such as batteries
A network of collection, charging and distribution machines collect, charge and distribute portable electrical energy storage devices (e.g., batteries, supercapacitors or ultracapacitors). To charge, the machines employ electrical current from an external source, such as the electrical grid or an electrical service of an installation location. Users may also use portable charging devices that authenticate portable electrical energy storage devices or are authenticated by portable electrical energy storage devices before the charging is allowed or enabled. This authentication may be via wired or wireless communication channels between the portable charging device and portable electrical energy storage device, such as via near field communication (NFC) channels.
