The battery is configured to provide electrical power to the electric machine. The battery cooling system is configured to cool the battery in a plurality of cooling modes. A transition between cooling modes of the battery cooling system corresponds to either an increase or a decrease in battery power being utilized to cool the battery. The controller is programmed to truncate an acceleration request under certain conditions to prevent an increase in battery power output in order to reduce a rate at which the battery temperature increases and to prevent a transition to a cooling mode that requires an increase in battery power output.

One-pedal drive method to control vehicle speed to a stop using feedback powertrain torque controls

A controller, responsive to accelerator pedal release and a speed of the vehicle being less than a threshold, operates an electric machine to provide braking torque according to a predetermined speed versus time profile that defines a predetermined duration for the speed to become zero and a target speed for each time instant during the predetermined duration such that, for a given one of the time instants, the electric machine increases the braking torque responsive to the speed being greater than the target speed and decreases the braking torque responsive to the speed being less than the target speed.

Systems and methods are provided herein for controlling the speed on each wheel of a vehicle, possibly operating a vehicle in a speed control mode. In response to receiving input to engage speed control mode and receiving an accelerator pedal input, the system determines a target wheel speed based on the accelerator pedal input, monitors wheel speed of each of a plurality of wheels and determines, for each monitored wheel, a difference based on the monitored wheel speed and the target wheel speed. A torque is provided to each of the plurality of wheels based on the respective difference to achieve the target wheel speed.

A method for optimising the power of an electrified vehicle having at least one electrical energy accumulator, at least one electrical drive and at least one auxiliary unit, the electrical energy accumulator having a maximum discharge power and a continuous discharge power. The power available from the electrical energy accumulator is distributed intelligently in order to make vehicle operation which is acceptable to the driver of the electrified vehicle possible.

Method for controlling a hybrid drive of a vehicle and a computer program for controlling a hybrid drive of a vehicle

A method for controlling a hybrid drive of a vehicle includes detecting a traffic and/or street situation ahead of the vehicle, and based on the detected situation, determining an upcoming increase of a performance requirement to be expected from the hybrid drive and increasing a withdrawal rate of an electrical energy source of the hybrid drive. This increase occurs before the performance requirement is realized. The performance requirement may be realized according to the increase of the withdrawal rate, e.g., in conformity with a performance requirement which may be entered via an interface, for example an accelerator pedal.

Intelligent motor vehicles and control logic for speed horizon generation and transition for one-pedal driving

A method of operating a vehicle includes a vehicle controller receiving a driver acceleration/deceleration command for the vehicle's powertrain and determining a torque request corresponding to the driver's acceleration command. The controller shapes the torque request and determines compensated and uncompensated accelerations from the shaped torque request. The compensated acceleration is based on an estimated road grade and an estimated vehicle mass, whereas the uncompensated acceleration is based on a zero road grade and a nominal vehicle mass. A final speed horizon profile is calculated as: a speed-control speed profile based on the uncompensated acceleration if the vehicle's speed is below a preset low vehicle speed; or a torque-control speed profile based on a blend of the compensated and uncompensated accelerations if the vehicle speed exceeds the preset low vehicle speed. The controller commands the powertrain to output a requested axle torque based on the final speed horizon profile.
