Click and release endobronchial specimen collection histology needle
11324491 · 2022-05-10 ·

A controller for use with a hollow endoscopic needle for collecting tissue, cell and/or fluid specimens from a patient that includes an outer body enclosing a slidably retaining a spring loaded plunger, a click and release plunger holder, a vacuum port, and a hollow needle attached to the plunger that is slidably retained in an outer tube or sheath. The controller permits a surgeon to positively control the needle and penetrate tissue, to pulse the needle, and to quickly and positively return the plunger and its needle back to its original un-pushed position. A vacuum or fluid pathway is defined between proximal and distal seals and along the needle's exterior and the interior of the outer tube or sheath and leads to a distal end of the hollow needle. A stylet can be slidably retained within the hollow needle, and can include a sensor to permit navigation.

A device for visualizing and providing suction for a surgical procedure in an ear may include a handle, a main shaft extending from the handle, an imaging sensor at a distal end of the main shaft, a light source at the distal end of the main shaft, and a suction shaft extending from the handle. The device may also include a spring coupled with the suction shaft and/or the handle, such that when the suction shaft is advanced in a distal direction and then released, the suction shaft retracts automatically. The suction shaft may have a distal curved portion, and the device may have a thumb depress portion that allows a user to spin the suction shaft to suction in different directions. Some embodiments may include a suction shaft with a sharp distal tip that is configured for placing an ear tube in the tympanic membrane.

Medical system and a device based on microwave technology for prevention and diagnosis of diseases

The system comprising an internal unit (10) comprising two arrays of N transmitter and N receiver antennas (11R, 11T) for transmitting a microwave signal(s) to one or more body tissues of a patient and for detecting a scattered microwave signal(s) by said one or more body tissues; feeding and multiplexing means (12) in connection with said N transmitter and N receiver antennas (11T, 11R) and with an external computing unit (20) configured to receive said scattered microwave signal(s) and convert it/them into an image, wherein the feeding and multiplexing means (12) provide, under the control of a controller (21) of the external computing unit (20), a continuous sequential selection of different pairs of transmitter and receiver antennas (11T, 11R) to perform the transmission of the microwave signal(s) and the detection of the scattered microwave signal(s).

MIS access port and methods of using
