MOTOR-DRIVEN ENDOSCOPE
A motor-driven endoscope includes: an insertion unit which is configured so that at least a part from one side thereof, and which includes a curve unit that is configured to be bent when being pulled by a wire inserted therein; a grip unit which is provided at one side of the insertion unit and is held by a user to input a driving input; a plurality of motors for transferring driving power so as to steer the curve unit; and a tension adjustment unit which is provided at the other side of the insertion unit and receives a rotating force from the motors to pull each wire, wherein the tension adjustment unit and the motor are configured to be coupled to or uncoupled from each other, and the tension adjustment unit is configured to receive the rotating force from the motor when coupled to the motor.
MINIMALLY INVASIVE ENDOSCOPE
An endoscope in which a reusable portion is inserted nearly all the way into a hollow, pistol-grip handle of a single-use portion and the protruding part of the reusable portion and an adjacent part of the handle are covered with a flexible and resilient cap. The same cap covers the open end of the handle when the single-use portion is shipped from a manufacturing site. At a user's facility, a health professional tears the pouch, removes the cap from the handle, inserts the reusable portion, and covers the distal end of the reusable portion and an adjacent part of the handle with the same cap. Typically, a remote display connects to the endoscope wirelessly or through a cable, with a connector that fits through a hole in the cap configured to keep fluids from entering around the connector. The wireless transmission preferably uses a proprietary protocol to preserve medical data confidentiality.
ENDOSCOPE SYSTEM
Arrangements comprising an endoscope system having an endoscope including a reusable hand-piece, a separable single-use shaft assembly, a single-use cartridge and a console are disclosed. Endoscope assemblies having articulation knobs attached by friction fit, multi-stage rotational distance limiters, and/or elevators are disclosed. Components of same, packaging systems, and methods are also provided.
BENDING PIECE AND BENDING PORTION OF MEDICAL DEVICE, AND ENDOSCOPE
A bending piece of a medical device includes: a ring-shaped piece main body having a peripheral wall part whose cross-section orthogonal to an axial direction is formed in a C-like shape and a slit-shaped opening part extending in the axial direction and provided between one end and the other end of the peripheral wall part in a peripheral direction; a first extension body extending from the peripheral wall part to one side in the axial direction; a second extension body extending from the peripheral wall part to the other side in the axial direction; a connecting shaft provided on the first extension body so as to extend outward in a radial direction orthogonal to the axial direction; and a connecting hole formed in a direction parallel to the connecting shaft, having a shape corresponding to an outer shape of the connecting shaft, and provided in the second extension body.
MEDICAL DETECTION ATTACHMENT AND MEDICAL ENDOSCOPE SYSTEM
A medical detection attachment includes: an attachment body attached to a connection portion between a light guide configured to guide a laser beam and a rigid endoscope configured to irradiate a subject with the laser beam via the light guide; a first detector provided in the attachment body and configured to detect connection between the attachment body and the rigid endoscope; and a second detector provided in the attachment body and configured to detect connection between the attachment body and the light guide.
ENDOSCOPE COMPRISING A BIOPSY VALVE
An endoscope including: a handle; and an insertion cord; the handle including: a working channel access port providing access to a working channel extending from the handle to a distal tip unit of the insertion cord; and a biopsy valve attached or attachable to the working channel access port; the biopsy valve including: a valve body attached or attachable to the working channel access port; and a valve lid configured to be detachably attached to the valve body; wherein the valve lid includes a slit which is formed or configured so as to close and seal the working channel access port and which provides a passageway for insertion of the tool or instrument; and wherein the slit includes at least one slit end arranged in a weakened portion determining a defined crack-growth direction starting from the at least one slit end.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR LUBRICATING DEVICES INTRODUCED INTO A BODY OF A PATIENT
Apparatus and methods are provided for lubricating a medical device, such as a colonoscope, being introduced into a patient's body. In one example, the apparatus includes a housing including a proximal surface, a distal surface, an interior communicating with the proximal and distal surfaces; and a lubricant within the interior of the housing such that a scope or other device inserted through the interior receives lubricant on its outer surface before introduction into a patient's body.
Apparatus and method for increasing heat dissipation capacity of a medical instrument
A method and apparatus for improving a heat dissipation capacity. An apparatus comprises an elongate member, a housing, and a heat pump device. The elongate member has a distal end and a proximal end. The housing is coupled to the proximal end of the elongate member. The heat pump device is disposed between the proximal end of the elongate member and the housing. The heat pump device is disposed at least partially outside the housing and is configured to transfer thermal energy between the elongate member and the housing. The heat pump device has a maximum outer diameter that is greater than a maximum outer diameter of the elongate member.
Medical systems, devices, and related methods
A medical system includes an insertion device including a delivery shaft with an internal lumen, a coupling tube coupled to the delivery shaft and configured to receive a medical device, and a liner tube inserted through the internal lumen of the delivery shaft.
