Endoscope hood removal tool and set of hood and hood removal tool
A removal tool for removing a hood having a hollow cylindrical shape mounted to a distal tip of an endoscope from the distal tip is constituted from a flexible member including a hole-shaped recess capable of housing the hood in its inside. An outer surface of the hood is provided with a step portion that extends along a circumferential direction of the hood. An inner wall surface of the recess is provided with an engaging portion at a position opposing to the step portion when the hood is housed in the recess, the engaging portion being shaped to grip the hood by being engaged with the step portion as a result of deformation of the flexible member.
APPARATUSES AND METHODS FOR SETTING POSITION OF A SHEATH IN A SCOPE
Devices and methods for setting position of a medical tool within an endoscope. In an illustrative embodiment, a device includes a housing that is configured to be connectable to a distal end of a scope and a sheath stop component that is configured to limit distal movement of a sheath received within the scope.
Pressure test port contained within a body of surgical instrument
A surgical apparatus includes a housing, a test port retainer, a pressure test chamber, and an image capture assembly. The housing includes a pressure test port. The test port retainer includes a test port retainer housing, a probe seal, and a liquid exclusion barrier. In one aspect, the test port retainer also includes a hydrophobic membrane mounted within the test port retainer housing. The pressure test chamber includes a manifold and a central tube. The first end of the central tube is affixed to the image capture assembly to form a pressure seal, and the second end of the central tube is coupled to the test port retainer so that the pressure test port communicates with the interior volume of the central tube through the test port retainer.
Apparatus and methods for lubricating devices introduced into a body of a patient
Apparatus and methods are provided for lubricating a medical device, such as a colonoscope, being introduced into a patient's body. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a housing including a proximal surface, a distal surface, a channel extending between the proximal and distal surfaces; and a lubricant within an interior of the housing surrounding the channel such that a scope or other device inserted through the channel receives lubricant on its outer surface before introduction into a patient's body.
Ergonomic tubing attachment for medical apparatus
An ergonomic attachment system for connecting an irrigation tube or an aspiration tube to a surgical handpiece that reduces surgeon wrist fatigue due to tubing twist. The tube is connected to the handpiece through a swivel joint which allows the tube to rotate circumferentially with respect to the handpiece and self-adjust to a neutral position to relieve the twist.
Colon cleaning devices and methods
There is provided a colon cleaning device comprising: a tube through which liquid and fecal matter are removed from a colon of a patient, the tube having a longitudinal axis; a cleaning head positioned at the distal end of the tube, the cleaning head having at least one opening coaxial with the longitudinal axis, the at least one opening sized for fecal matter to enter the interior of the cleaning head from the colon; at least one disassembly element disposed within the cleaning head; and an actuating mechanism which actuates the disassembly element to perform sweeping displacement inside the cleaning head so that the at least one disassembly element rotates around the longitudinal axis to slice through the fecal matter; wherein the cleaning head and the tube are sized and shaped to be displaced along the colon of a patient.
GUIDE WIRE
A guide wire includes a main body portion having an elongated outer shape and having a base and a marker alternately presented on an outer surface along an extending direction, and a resin layer having light permeability, covering the outer surface of the main body portion, and including a recessed portion and a protruding portion alternately arranged along the extending direction of the main body portion, wherein in longitudinal cross-section along the extending direction of the main body portion, a width of the marker is wider than a width of the protruding portion.
SAMPLING DEVICE FOR THE USE WITH AN ENDOSCOPE
A sampling device (9) for the use with an endoscope (1) having a suction channel and a suction connector (4) in communication with said suction channel. The sampling device (9) is adapted for connection to the suction connector (4) and said sampling device (9) is adapted for connection to a vacuum source. The sampling device (9) is adapted for forming a rigid connection with said endoscope (1) when connected to the suction connector thereof (4).
Endoscopic ultrasound fine needle aspiration device
A handle for a medical device includes a proximal segment defining a proximal lumen extending therethrough and sized and shaped to receive an endoscopic medical device therein. A medial segment is received within a distal portion of the proximal segment and has an outer diameter smaller than an inner diameter thereof. A medial lumen extends through the proximal segment and is open to the proximal lumen. A distal segment is received within a distal portion of the medial segment and defines a distal lumen extending therethrough open to the medial lumen. The distal segment has an outer diameter smaller than an inner diameter of the medial segment. The medial segment includes a first movement limiting mechanism limiting movement of an endoscopic medical device inserted therethrough along an axis of the distal lumen and a second movement limiting mechanism limiting advancement of an endoscope attached to the distal body portion.

Disclosed herein is a cannula and/or medical instrument accessory configured for providing localized insufflation or venting of gases with respect to a surgical cavity of a patient (such as the pneumoperitoneum) and allowing insertion of medical instruments into the surgical cavity through the cannula. A medical instrument accessory such as a cannula and/or medical instrument accessory can be used for localizing insufflation or venting of gas or fluid near operating end of a medical instrument. The medical instrument accessory can comprise a body mountable over at least a portion of a medical instrument shaft, the body having an inner lumen, proximal end and distal end, the distal end comprising an opening, wherein the distal end is arranged in use at or adjacent an operating end of the medical instrument. An outer wall of the medical instrument shaft and lumen can define a gas flow path, wherein as or fluid is released or introduced into the gas flow path at the distal end and adjacent the end of the medical instrument shaft.
