Tuned flexible support member and flexible suspension features for comfort carriers
A vehicle seat support carrier includes an upper seatback panel having a flexible body portion. A first set of flexible suspension members undulate in a first direction. A second set of flexible suspension members undulate in a second direction generally perpendicular to the first direction. A lower seatback panel is operably coupled to the upper seatback panel. The lower seatback panel includes a border member defining a central aperture and first and second bolster supports. A central portion of each of the first and second bolster supports includes a plurality of flexible suspension members.
Seat with a cylindrical ventilation fan
A ventilated seat having a jounce zone, including a seat jounce zone and a back jounce zone, configured to deform when the ventilated seat and an occupant are subjected to a dynamic force includes a frame, a seat portion, a back portion, and a cylindrical blower. The seat portion is connected to the frame and has a porous seat cover portion and the seat jounce zone. The back portion is connected to the frame and has a porous back cover portion and the back jounce zone. The cylindrical blower is attached to the frame, is disposed at least partially outside of the jounce zone, and is operatively connected to one of the porous seat cover portion and the porous back cover portion such that air flows through the respective porous cover portion to provide ventilation to the ventilated seat.
Compliant edge frame bolster for suspension seating
A vehicle seat includes a support structure, a seat surface (14) and a molded polymeric frame (18). The frame has an edge region and the seat surface (14) is mounted to the frame (18) and the frame is mounted to the support structure. At least a portion of the edge region is flexible.
MULTI-COMPONENT SPRING SYSTEM FOR DYNAMIC THIGH AND CUSHION SUPPORT
A vehicle seat includes a tilt plate rotationally coupled at a first horizontal axis to a front of a base. A cushion spring extends from a rear of the base to the tilt plate. Rotation of the tilt plate rotates the cushion spring about a second horizontal axis. A thigh support is rotationally coupled to the tilt plate. A dynamic spring biases the thigh support away from the tilt plate.
COMFORT SYSTEM FOR SEATING BACKS WITH REDUCTION IN PUR VOLUME AND ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY CONSTRUCTION
A seatback support shell for a vehicle seat includes a shaped resinous sheet defining a top side, a bottom side, a first lateral side, and a second lateral side when the seatback support shell is positioned in a vehicle seat. The shaped resinous sheet has a convex section and a non-convex section with the convex section being positioned below the non-convex section when the seatback support shell is positioned in a vehicle seat.
Securing seat trim covers to foam cushions
A seat trim cover includes a flexible web and a plurality of molded clips spaced-apart at predetermined intervals along a distal edge of the web. Each of the clips includes a base attached to the web and one or more latch elements extending from the base to a point beyond the distal edge of the web. The latch elements of each clip are configured to clasp a cushion retainer when forced into engagement with the retainer.

Skin material fastening structure and skin material removing tool
A skin material fastening structure for removably fastening an edge of a first skin material covering a part of molded foam and an edge of a second skin material covering another part of the molded foam in a fastening groove formed in the molded foam. The fastening groove includes first and second sides facing each other, and a bottom extending between lower ends of the first and second sides. A hook and loop fastener is fixed on the first and second sides. Each of the edges of the first and second skin materials has loops capable of engaging with the hooks.
Vehicle seat
A vehicle seat includes a pad configured to support a body of a seated occupant. The pad has a transverse air passage extending in a direction along a back surface of the pad and a plurality of longitudinal air passages each having one end connecting with the transverse air passage and the other end open to a front surface of the pad. The transverse air passage has a first transverse air passage connecting an air introduction hole from a fan or an air discharge hole to the fan and the longitudinal air passage directly with each other, and a second transverse air passage connecting the air introduction hole or the air discharge hole and the longitudinal air passage with each other via a resistant body having a resistance against an air flow.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING VISCOELASTIC POLYURETHANE FOAMS
The present invention relates to a method for producing a viscoelastic polyurethane soft foam. The invention further relates to a viscoelastic polyurethane soft block foam or viscoelastic polyurethane soft molded foam having particularly high tensile strengths, which are produced by the method according to the invention, and to the use of said foams. The present invention further relates to polyol compositions which are suitable for the production of viscoelastic polyurethane foams.
