An endoscope having an outer sheath, a handle, an optical window, and an optical module. The outer sheath includes a lumen extending between a proximal end and a distal end thereof. The handle is mounted at the proximal end of the outer sheath and includes an external data connector. The optical window is removably and sealingly mounted at the distal end of the outer sheath. The optical module is removably disposed within the distal end of the outer sheath and includes an integrated image sensor, an optical lens, and an optical module connector. The optical module connector is configured for selective disconnection from and reconnection to a mating line connector in electrical communication with the external data connector of the handle. The optical module and the outer sheath further include one or more alignment features configured to ensure correct radial and axial positioning.

SURGICAL SYSTEM INSTRUMENT MOUNTING

A surgical system comprises a base, an arm assembly operably coupled to the base, and an instrument manipulator assembly coupled to a distal link of the arm assembly. The instrument manipulator assembly comprises an instrument manipulator interface to removably couple with a medical instrument and transfer actuation forces to the medical instrument. The instrument manipulator interface comprises a mounting surface and a plurality of actuator outputs to operably engage with respectively corresponding inputs of the medical instrument. The actuator outputs extend from the mounting surface along directions substantially parallel to a shaft of the medical instrument in a mounted state of the medical instrument to the instrument manipulator interface. In the mounted state of the medical instrument, the instrument manipulator interface and medical instrument are rotatable together about a roll axis of rotation relative to the distal link of the arm assembly.

Signal connector for sterile barrier between surgical instrument and teleoperated actuator

An instrument sterile drape includes a plastic sheet and an instrument sterile adapter (ISA) coupled to the plastic sheet. The ISA includes bottom and top plates located on opposite sides of the plastic sheet plate and joined together. A passage in the bottom plate allows an instrument carriage flux connection to pass through the plastic sheet and the bottom plate to be adjacent to the top plate. The top plate includes a signal transmission area that will be adjacent to an upper surface of the flux connection of the instrument carriage. A flux connector may close an opening in the signal transmission area of the top plate and provide a path for an electrical or optical signal. The signal transmission area of the top plate may be thinned to allow an RFID sensor to be closer to an RFID device in a surgical instrument attached to the instrument sterile adapter.

Digital dental tray for 3D model generation

A system comprises a dental tray comprising an array of fixed focus cameras, wherein each fixed focus camera of the first array of fixed focus cameras has a fixed position and orientation relative to one or more other fixed focus camera of the array of fixed focus cameras. The system further comprises a processing device to receive a plurality of images generated by the array of fixed focus cameras, stitch the plurality of images together based on calibration data specifying predetermined image stitching parameters for combining the plurality of images, wherein the predetermined image stitching parameters are based on predetermined fixed relative positions and orientations of fixed focus cameras from the array of fixed focus cameras, and generate a three-dimensional model of a plurality of teeth based on the stitched plurality of images.

VAGINAL SPECULUM

Described is a vaginal speculum having a vaginal assembly of at least two longitudinal elements connected at a distal end for insertion into the vagina of a subject. The vaginal speculum is configured for holding the vaginal walls of the subject apart, thereby permitting examination and/or suturing of at least the posterior part of the vaginal tissue.

Oximetry device with laparoscopic extension

A laparoscopic medical device includes an oximeter sensor at its tip, which allows the making of oxygen saturation measurements laparoscopically. The device can be a unitary design, wherein a laparoscopic element includes electronics for the oximeter sensor at a distal end (e.g., opposite the tip). The device can be a multiple piece design (e.g., two-piece design), where some electronics is in a separate housing from the laparoscopic element, and the pieces (or portions) are removably connected together. The laparoscopic element can be removed and disposed of; so, the electronics can be reused multiple times with replacement laparoscopic elements. The electronics can include a processing unit for control, computation, or display, or any combination of these. However, in an implementation, the electronics can connect wirelessly to other electronics (e.g., another processing unit) for further control, computation, or display, or any combination of these.

Method for manufacture of a tip part and a tip part for an endoscope

A method for manufacture of a tip part for an endoscope including providing a camera assembly, an exterior housing including a circumferential wall enclosing a spacing and a distal end wall integral with the circumferential wall and having an opening; inserting a lens barrel of the camera assembly in the spacing so that a distal end of the lens barrel of the camera assembly extends into the opening, and so that an axially extending adhesive spacing is provided between the opening and the lens barrel along a circumference of the lens barrel, a radial extent of the adhesive spacing gradually being reduced in a direction towards the spacing of the exterior housing; injecting an adhesive into the adhesive spacing; and allowing or causing the adhesive to harden so as to adhere the lens barrel to the distal end wall of the exterior housing.

Hybrid apparatus for fluid supply for endoscopic irrigation and lens cleaning
11406251 · 2022-08-09 · ·

A hybrid apparatus for delivery of fluid in connection with endoscopic irrigation and lens cleaning including a connector which is adaptable to a flexible or rigid container, a connector arranged at the end thereof and connected via a tubing supply to a fluid, air and or gas source and to an endoscope during a procedure.

Latch release for surgical instrument

A surgical instrument includes a proximal control mechanism having an instrument control surface. The instrument control surface has two openings through which two resilient latch arms can be inserted to engage a fixed latch structure contained within the proximal control mechanism. The fixed latch structure provides two lead-in ramps that force the resilient latch arms onto locking surfaces. The resilient latch arms are contained entirely within the proximal control mechanism when engaged. Inward forces can be applied to two buttons to apply an outward force on the resilient latch arms and release them from the locking surfaces of the fixed latch structure. Each of the two buttons is accessible from one of two opposite outside surfaces of the proximal control mechanism.
