ENDOSCOPE AND ENDOSCOPE SYSTEM
20230103104 · 2023-03-30 · ·

An endoscope includes an insertion unit, an operation unit, an emission end, a first light guide and a second light guide that guide illumination light emitted from a light source unit to the emission end, a lens member that suppresses a variation in a relative intensity of each color light of the illumination light, and a connection unit that optically connects the first light guide, the second light guide, and the lens member; and the lens member is disposed between the first light guide and the second light guide, and the connection unit and the lens member are provided in the operation unit.

Portable imaging system employing a miniature endoscope

A cart or man-portable system and method for performing endoscopic procedures is provided. A portable display device, such as a laptop computer, is coupled to a handle comprising a miniature camera and fiber optic illumination subsystem. A sterile disposable portion is fitted over the illumination subsystem and inserted into a target area on a patient. Images of the target area are conveyed from the camera to the display device while an endoscopic procedure is performed, thus facilitating real-time diagnosis during the procedure.

Video laryngoscope and video laryngoscope insertion section

A video laryngoscope and elongate laryngoscope insertion section for a video laryngoscope, comprising a viewing port through which an imaging device within the insertion section can obtain images of a larynx, the insertion section extending between a distal end for insertion into a subject and an opposite proximal end, and having an inferior surface and an opposed superior surface, wherein the insertion section comprises a proximal region where the insertion section extends through a subject's teeth in use, a distal region extending to the distal end and an intermediate region therebetween, wherein the inferior surface of the insertion section comprises or consists of a curved region which extends from the proximal region through the intermediate region to the distal region, wherein the curved region of the inferior surface is continuously longitudinally curved along the length of the longitudinally curved region and wherein the longitudinal curvature of the curved region of the inferior surface varies in the intermediate region. Markings on an elongate laryngoscope insertion can be used to monitor depth of insertion and to indicate a path by which an endotracheal tube should be inserted.

Endoscope with cover at distal end of cannula

An endoscope has a cannula, one and only one translucent or transparent cover at a distal end of the cannula, a light source and imaging system, both inside the cannula. The light source delivers light into the cover. At least some of that light passes through the cover to illuminate an inspection site inside the patient's body; some of that light is internally reflected at an outer surface of the cover to travel back toward an inner surface of the cover. The imaging system receives the light that has been reflected off the inspection site and returned to the endoscope through the cover. The components are configured such that none of the light that is internally reflected at the outer surface of the cover reaches an optical input of the imaging system directly (e.g., without being further reflected).

Intraoral scanner sleeve authentication and identification

Apparatuses, including sleeves, intraoral scanning systems to use these sleeves, and methods of using the sleeve, that authenticate the sleeve for use with an intraoral scanning system. Authentication may include verifying that the sleeve is new (unused) and/or verifying that the sleeve is appropriate and/or intended for use with the intraoral scanning system. Once authenticated, operation parameters of the intraoral scanning system can be automatically set based on information from a scanned identifier on the sleeve.

An endoscope device is provided. The device comprises: an elongate member comprising a proximal end and a distal end, and a camera is located at the distal end of the disposable elongate member; one or more external guiding elements configured to guide an articulation movement of the distal end of the elongate member, and each of the one or more external guiding elements is individually controlled; and a handle component removably attached to the proximal end of the elongate member.

Camera Drape

Provided is a camera drape which enables easy replacement of a rigid endoscope during a surgical operation while suppressing deterioration in the quality of video. A camera drape comprises: a spacer that is arranged between an endoscope-side lens of a rigid endoscope and a camera-side lens of a camera head; and a drape body that is attached to the spacer and covers, among the rigid endoscope and the camera head, only the camera head. The spacer includes a clamping plate having a through hole that faces the endoscope-side lens and the camera-side lens in a state where the spacer is clamped between an eyepiece unit for supporting the endoscope-side lens and an endoscope connection unit for supporting the camera-side lens.

Surgical system instrument mounting

An instrument manipulator may comprise a frame comprising an outer shell and an inner frame, the inner frame being movably coupled to the outer shell. The instrument manipulator may also include a plurality of actuator outputs protruding in a distal direction from the frame and an instrument support feature coupled to the outer shell. The instrument manipulator may further comprise a latching mechanism, the latching mechanism being configured to move the inner frame, the outer shell, or both relative to one another, so as to operably engage the plurality of actuator outputs with a plurality of actuator inputs of an instrument supported by the instrument support feature.

Flexible wrist for surgical tool

The present invention is directed to a tool having a wrist mechanism that provides pitch and yaw rotation in such a way that the tool has no singularity in roll, pitch, and yaw. In one embodiment, a minimally invasive surgical instrument includes an elongate shaft having a working end, a proximal end, and a shaft axis between the working end and the proximal end; and an end effector. A wrist member has a flexible tube including an axis extending through an interior surrounded by a wall. The wall of the flexible tube includes a plurality of lumens oriented generally parallel to the axis of the flexible tube. The wrist member has a proximal portion connected to the working end of the elongate shaft and a distal portion connected to the end effector. A plurality of actuation cables have distal portions connected to the end effector and extend from the distal portion through the lumens of the wall of the wrist member toward the elongate shaft to proximal portions which are actuatable to bend the wrist member in pitch rotation and yaw rotation.
