An endoscopy device is configured with a flexible cannula or tube for nasal insertion and has multiple parallel and adjacent lumens that provide sub-chambers configured to provide means to diagnose and treat Barrett's esophagus, such as by spray cryo-therapy with no further insertion of tubes. The lumens are configured to impart a small diameter with sufficient flexibility for nasal insertion into a patient's esophagus and accommodate a means any treatment modality. In the case of cryo-therapy, a lumen provides gas pressure relief, and is along the tube, with separate lumens for the delivery of a liquid freezing agent and an imaging means, which includes a source of illumination. Outer lumens may support guide wires used to steer the tube tip and aim the camera to determine the where to immobilize tip before the start of the treatment and/or to correct strictures formed in prior procedures.

ADAPTER COMPONENT SET

In order to reliably separate an unsterilized zone from a sterilized zone in a device for connecting a medical instrument, an adapter component set 28 is for connecting the medical instrument such as an endoscope to an unsterilized device having a timing pulley 27 included in a rotation mechanism for rotating the medical instrument. An adapter 47 holds the medical instrument. A separator 46 has a hollow cylinder shape for inserting the adapter therein. At least the inner surface of the separator is included in the sterilized zone, and the outer surface of the cylinder is connected to the pulley. As connecting parts for connecting a drape for isolating the device having the rotation mechanism from the sterilized zone, a pair of an outlet drape bearing 41 and an outlet drape bearing cover 42 and a pair of an inlet drape bearing 45 and an inlet drape bearing cover 44 are provided.

Endoscope accessory with locking elements

A medical device comprising an endoscope accessory for attachment to the working end of an endoscope. The coupler device provides a flexible working channel extension from the endoscope so that instruments can exit the endoscope at various angles. The device also provides a protective cover to reduce the ingress of debris, fluid, bacteria, or other unwanted matter from the working end of the endoscope which could lead to infection.

Extendible flexible sheath

A sheath for a medical instrument includes an elongate body extending from a proximal end to a distal face. The elongate body may be configured to axially extend from a first length to a second length greater than the first length. The sheath may include a first hollow lumen extending from a first end proximate the proximal end to a second end proximate the distal face, and a second hollow lumen extending from the proximal end to the distal face. The second lumen may be open at the distal face. The sheath may also include a transparent window positioned at the second end of the first lumen to seal the first lumen at the second end. The transparent window may be configured to transmit light therethrough.

Apparatus and method for monitoring differential pressure
11253140 · 2022-02-22 ·

A pressure monitoring device is provided for use with a tool such as a medical endoscope. The device includes a housing which is fluidically coupled with an internal volume of the endoscope. A pump is used to change the pressure inside the device housing and endoscope, thereby establishing a pressure differential from the ambient environment. During an endoscopy procedure, the pressure inside the device housing is monitored, and a change in pressure exceeding a predefined limit causes an alarm signal indicating a leak has occurred in the endoscope. The device housing may be directly mounted to the endoscope, located remotely and connected with a coupling tube, or integrated with an accessory device connected to the endoscope. The pump may be integrated internally to the device housing, or it may be a separate external pump which is connected to the housing. The pressure differential may be positive or negative relative to ambient.

Articulated device with visualization system

An articulated device may include a first steerable multi-linked mechanism and a second steerable multi-linked mechanism. The second steerable multi-linked mechanism may include a first link, a plurality of intermediate links and a second link movably coupled to a second one of the intermediate links. A first one of the intermediate links may be movably coupled to the first link. The articulated device may include a camera located within at least a portion of the second link and a protective shield connected to a distal end of the second link. The protective shield may surround at least a portion of the camera.

Camera system and method for cleaning a camera

A camera system, particularly for minimally-invasive surgery, comprising an optics, wherein the optics is connected to at least one transparent film and the film is removable. Further, there is provided a method for cleaning a camera in minimally-invasive surgery wherein an optics of the camera is cleaned intracorporally by use of a cleaning device.
