Such methods and devices may involve positioning at least a part of a device in an aperture in a bone involved in the joint such that the image capture component is in operable relation to the target area. The methods and devices disclosed herein may also be used for and in combination with ligament repair. Methods of surgery utilising this method and devices suitable for use with this method are also disclosed.

Endoscope system

An endoscope system includes: a first endoscope including an insertion section, an operation section, and a bending operation device; a second endoscope including an insertion section, an operation section, and a bending operation device; and a fixing member configured to connect and fix the operation sections to each other such that the bending operation device of the first endoscope is made to protrude toward the operation section of the second endoscope, the bending operation device of the second endoscope is made to protrude toward the operation section of the first endoscope, and the bending operation device of the second endoscope is spaced apart from the bending operation device of the first endoscope toward an insertion section side.

INTUBATION DEVICE IMPROVEMENTS

Certain aspects relate to systems and techniques for articulating medical instruments. In one aspect, the instrument includes a wrist having at least one degree of freedom of movement, and an end effector coupled to the wrist. The end effector can include a cartridge for delivering a plurality of clips to tissue. The wrist may include one or more cables capable of moving an actuator with one degree of freedom of movement within the end effector to advance one or more clips through the end effector.

DEVICE FOR AUTOMATICALLY INSERTING AND MANIPULATING A MEDICAL TOOL INTO AND WITHIN A BODILY LUMEN

A compact robotic device for driving movement of two or more elongate surgical tools configured for a telescopic arrangement when said two or more elongate surgical tools are at least partially received within said device, the device comprising: a housing comprising walls which define an inner volume including at least two inner pathways for accommodating the two or more elongate surgical tools; the housing encasing: a plurality of motors, and two or more tool actuation assemblies configured at a position of each of the two or more inner pathways; the actuation assemblies driven by the plurality of motors and configured to operably contact an elongate surgical tool at least partially received in the inner pathway to at least one of advance, retract and/or roll said elongate surgical tool.

REAL-TIME SAMPLING DEVICE

Various disclosed embodiments include illustrative apparatuses and systems for performing multi-lumen catheter functions and methods for making the apparatuses. An illustrative apparatus includes a multi-lumen sheath, a cap having a proximal end attachable to a distal end of the multi-lumen sheath, and a liner. The cap includes a ramp section having a ramp and an exit port and an imaging section disposed distally from the ramp section. The ramp allows travel of a medical device from within the liner to the exit port. The distal ramp section extends distally from the flexible proximal section and is received by the ramp of the ramp section. The distal ramp section has a curved portion. The cap includes a socket for receiving a tab of the distal ramp section. The curved portion includes bending relief features.

ENDOSCOPIC IMAGING SYSTEM

An endoscopic imaging system includes a reusable control cabinet having a number of actuators that control the orientation of a lightweight endoscope that is connectable thereto. The endoscope is used with a single patient and is then disposed. The endoscope includes an illumination mechanism, an image sensor and an elongate shaft having one or more lumens located therein. A polymeric articulation joint at the distal end of the endoscope allows the distal end to be oriented by the control cabinet. The endoscope is coated with a hydrophilic coating that reduces its coefficient of friction and because it is lightweight, requires less force to advance it to a desired location within a patient.

Covering for a medical scoping device

The present invention relates to a cover having a plurality of moveable, external, angled projecting elements for use with flexible medical scoping devices such as endoscopes or enteroscopes. The invention includes the cover with an over cuff and use of the disposable removable covering in methods of medical scoping procedures or examinations. The invention also includes an applicator for assisting in placing the covering about or over a medical device and a kit of parts.

An endoscope hanger which frees a doctor's hands without causing pain to a patient, and a cart, washing sink, washing and sterilization apparatus, stand, and endoscope storage cabinet having said endoscope hanger are provided. This endoscope hanger is characterized by having a polygonal shape and/or an ellipsoid shape (including a perfect circular shape) or a shape that is a combination of these, and is characterized by having at least one hole that can hold an endoscope at an oblique angle; this cart, washing sink, washing and sterilization apparatus, stand, and endoscope storage cabinet comprise said endoscope hanger.

Navigation of tubular networks

Methods and apparatuses provide improved navigation through tubular networks such as lung airways by providing improved estimation of location and orientation information of a medical instrument (e.g., an endoscope) within the tubular network. Various input data such as image data, EM data, and robot data are used by different algorithms to estimate the state of the medical instrument, and the state information is used to locate a specific site within a tubular network and/or to determine navigation information for what positions/orientations the medical instrument should travel through to arrive at the specific site. Probability distributions together with confidence values are generated corresponding to different algorithms are used to determine the medical instrument's estimated state.
