VEHICULAR OCCUPANCY ASSESSMENT

Systems, devices, and techniques are provided for occupancy assessment of a vehicle. For one or more occupants of the vehicle, the occupancy assessment establishes position and/or identity for some or all of the occupant(s).

VEHICLE OCCUPANCY ALERTING SYSTEM
20190184854 · 2019-06-20 ·

A vehicle occupancy alerting system for alerting a driver of a passenger positioned in a seat of a car includes a vehicle and a plurality of seats mounted within the vehicle. The plurality of seats includes a back seat. An occupant warning system is mounted on the vehicle and warns a driver of the vehicle that a person is on the back seat when the vehicle has been turned off.

METHOD, SYSTEM, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR DETECTION OF SECURELY FASTENED SEAT BELTS

An electronic tag programmed with an identification in a seat belt assembly is identified by reading the programmed identification via an electronic device embedded in a seat. In response to identifying the electronic tag, a determination is made that an occupant has not fastened a seat belt of the seat belt assembly to secure the occupant in the seat.

VEHICLE HEAD RESTRAINT WITH MOVEMENT MECHANISM

A head restraint is provided for a seat for use with a motor vehicle. The head restraint includes a base configured to be attached to the seat, and a main portion configured to be positioned between the base and a head of a seat occupant when the base is attached to the seat and the seat is mounted in the vehicle. The head restraint further includes at least one movement mechanism associated with at least one of the base and the main portion and configured to move at least part of the main portion laterally or upwardly and downwardly relative to the base.

Vehicle and a method for controlling the same

A vehicle and a method for controlling the vehicle include generating a warning message for passenger confirmation such that a driver of the vehicle confirms whether at least one passenger safely alights from the vehicle by recognizing the warning message. The method for controlling the vehicle includes: primarily confirming a presence or absence of a passenger having not yet exited the vehicle on a basis of opening/closing information of doors; generating a primary warning message for passenger confirmation on a basis of a result of the primary confirmation regarding the presence or absence of the passenger; secondarily confirming the presence or absence of the passenger having not yet exited the vehicle using a human detection sensor; and generating a secondary warning message for passenger confirmation on a basis of a result of the secondary confirmation.

A sensor disposition structure in a seat includes a cushion pad and a board-like member which is disposed under the cushion pad. A concave is formed in an upper surface of the board-like member, and a sensor is disposed in the concave.

Internal safety systems for robotic vehicles

Systems, apparatus and methods implemented in algorithms, hardware, software, firmware, logic, or circuitry may be configured to process data and sensory input to determine whether an object external to an autonomous vehicle (e.g., another vehicle, a pedestrian, road debris, a bicyclist, etc.) may be a potential collision threat to the autonomous vehicle. The autonomous vehicle may be configured to implement interior active safety systems to protect passengers of the autonomous vehicle during a collision with an object or during evasive maneuvers by the autonomous vehicle, for example. The interior active safety systems may be configured to provide passengers with notice of an impending collision and/or emergency maneuvers by the vehicle by tensioning seat belts prior to executing an evasive maneuver and/or prior to a predicted point of collision.

Vehicle seat

A vehicle seat includes a seat bottom and a seat back coupled to the seat bottom to extend upwardly away from the seat bottom and move relative to the seat bottom. The vehicle seat is coupled to a vehicle floor for movement relative to the vehicle floor between a use arrangement and a storage arrangement.
