Acoustic output through headrest wings

The technology described in this document can be embodied in a headrest of a seat, the headrest including an enclosure for housing one or more acoustic transducers, and an adjustable headrest wing disposed in front of the enclosure. The headrest wing is coupled to the enclosure by a pivot, and configured to be adjusted to one of multiple positions within an angle range around the pivot. The headrest wing is also configured to support the head of a seat-occupant. The headrest further includes a connector disposed between the enclosure and a rear portion of the headrest wing. The connector is configured to provide an acoustic channel between the enclosure and the headrest wing such that audio signals from the one or more acoustic transducers are radiated outward through the headrest wing.

A biological sensor is provided with at least two sensors for detecting vibrations, and is configured so that the at least two sensors form layers. One of the at least two sensors is a first sensor used to acquire biological information, and one is a second sensor used to remove noise. A first cushion material for reducing vibrations is disposed between the first sensor and the second sensor. The first cushion material is integrally laminated with the first sensor and the second sensor. This facilitates accurate detection of biological information.

PHYSICAL STATE SHARABLE SEAT

A seat having features of evaluating a physical state of a seated occupant, in which motivation to use the features is enhanced, is provided. A physical state sharable seat is proposed which includes: a seat body; a sensor (8) configured to acquire a measurement value specific to a physical state of an occupant seated on the seat body; and a controller (100) connected to the sensor and thereby allowed to acquire the measurement value from the sensor, and configured to be capable of communicating with other equipment. The controller (100) includes: an evaluation unit (121) configured to compute an evaluation value on the physical state, based on the measurement value; an evaluation value presentation unit (122) configured to present the evaluation value at a terminal to be used by the occupant; a shared data acquisition unit (161) configured to acquire an other-occupant evaluation value that is an evaluation value on a physical state of another person, acquired either by the evaluation unit or from another physical state sharable seat; and a shared data presentation unit (162) configured to present the other-occupant evaluation value at the terminal to be used by the occupant.

Seat adjustment

A profile for an occupant is stored. The profile includes a plurality of clusters of sitting positions for the occupant in a seat and classifications of respective clusters as preferred or nonpreferred. Respective clusters are classified as preferred or nonpreferred based on sitting scores for the respective sitting positions in that cluster. A higher sitting score increases a likelihood of the classification being preferred. A series of pressure maps indicating a respective series of sitting positions of the occupant in the seat are received. The pressure maps include a current pressure map. One of the sitting positions is assigned to one of the clusters that is classified as preferred in response to the sitting score of that sitting position being greater than a threshold score. A physical configuration of the seat is adjusted in response to the current sitting position being in one of the clusters that is classified as nonpreferred.

GERMICIDAL UV-C TREATMENTS

A number of variations may include placement of germicidal ultraviolet-C (UV-C) light treatments within vehicle interiors/exteriors to minimize material surface microbial growth and contamination, and sanitizes vehicle surfaces. A number of variations may include vehicles including UV-C light devices mounted in or on the vehicle to treat interiors/exteriors of the vehicle to minimize material surface microbial growth and contamination, and sanitize vehicle surfaces.

System and method for controlling seat movement using magnetic sensing

An improved system and method for controlling a moveable object associated with a mobile platform are provided. The provided system and method generates an application specific protected volume between the moveable object and a feature of the mobile platform to be protected. The provided system and method use magnetic sensing techniques to sense the moveable object when it infringes upon the protected volume, and provide control of the moveable object responsive to sensed infringement.

Biological object detector, vehicle seat occupancy detector, and seat belt non-wearing warning system

A heat flux sensor is installed in such a way that heat flux emanating from a biological object present at a predetermined position is detectable. It is determined whether or not a biological object is present at the predetermined position by comparing sensing results of the heat flux sensor with determination criteria. The determination criteria is preset according to heat flux that can be sensed when a biological object is present at the predetermined position. When the sensing results of the heat flux sensor satisfy the determination criteria, in other words, when the heat flux sensed by the heat flux sensor is the heat flux emanating from a biological object, it is determined that a biological object is present at the predetermined position. Consequently, it is possible to realize accurate detection of a biological object.

Seat position-sensing system

An occupant support for a vehicle includes a vehicle seat and a foundation. The vehicle seat is configured to support an occupant of the vehicle above a floor of the vehicle. The foundation is configured to interconnect the vehicle seat to the floor to permit movement of the vehicle seat relative to the floor along a linear path.

Systems, methods and apparatuses are provided for automated passenger seat adjustments in a vehicle

Systems, Methods and Apparatuses are provided for a seat adjustment system for a vehicle which includes: a plurality of sensors configured to produce sensor data associated with an occupancy by an internal or external user of a particular seat of the vehicle and a processor, configured to receive the sensor data to: determine a state of one or more settings of the seat adjustment system for the particular seat of the vehicle based on stored data or the received sensor data; determine in a near future whether a particular seat will be occupied by the external user based on the received sensor data; determine currently whether a particular seat is occupied by the internal user based on the received sensor data; and adjust settings of the particular seat in accordance with determinations of the state of settings and occupancy of the particular seat.
