Sensory stimulation system for an autonomous vehicle
10112623 · 2018-10-30 · ·

A sensory stimulation system for autonomous vehicle (AV) can determine a set of maneuvers of the AV. Based on each respective maneuver, the sensory stimulation system can determine a set of visual stimulation outputs to provide a passenger of the AV with visual indications of the respective maneuver. The sensory stimulation system can then display the set of visual stimulation outputs on a display unit within the interior of the AV prior to executing each respective maneuver.

Occupant profiling system

Various systems and methods for providing an occupant profiling system are described herein. A system for profiling a vehicle occupant includes a vehicle control system, comprising: a sensor fusion circuit coupled to a plurality of sensors installed a vehicle seat, the sensor fusion circuit to: determine that a human occupant is seated in the vehicle seat; sample a backrest sensor arrangement and a base cushion sensor arrangement of the vehicle seat to obtain backrest sensor data and base cushion sensor data, when the human occupant is determined to be seated in the vehicle seat; sample, when the human occupant is determined to be seated in the vehicle seat, a height sensor to obtain a height sensor value; and statistically determine from the backrest sensor data, the base cushion sensor data, and the high sensor data, whether the human occupant matches a reference profile.

METHOD FOR ADJUSTING A SEAT OF A VEHICLE

A method for operating a vehicle is provided. The method includes the steps of sensing a state parameter, and selecting a seat position for a seat of the vehicle from a plurality of seat positions, in dependence on the state parameter.

CONTROL DEVICE AND METHOD, SEAT MODULE AND ASSOCIATED COMPUTER PROGRAM

Disclosed is a control device for comfort equipment for a seat module in a passenger transport vehicle. The control device includes a control unit capable of transmitting adjustment commands to a piece of comfort equipment, and one imager capable of acquiring one image representing a part of the body of a passenger resting on a seat. The control unit communicates with the imager to receive the one acquired image. The control unit is capable of detecting an object in the image representing a part of the passenger's body and generating one adjustment command to be sent to the comfort equipment as a function of the detected part of the passenger's body.

Systems and methods for delivering discrete autonomous in-vehicle notifications

Method and apparatus are disclosed for providing discrete autonomous notifications to a passenger of a vehicle. An example vehicle includes a plurality of seats, a plurality of audio transducers, and a processor. The processor is configured to determine a passenger seat corresponding to a passenger having a predetermined destination, determine a notification based on the predetermined destination, and transmit, via one or more of the plurality of audio transducers, a notification to the passenger based on a determined passenger head position.

METHOD FOR ADJUSTING THE SEAT OF A VEHICLE

A method for adjusting a seat of a vehicle is disclosed. The method includes the step of capturing loading data of the seat, evaluating the loading data to determine a control dataset for periodically adjusting the seat based on the control dataset.

METHOD OF CONTROLLING A VEHICLE SEATING ASSEMBLY

A vehicle includes a front seating assembly and a rear seating assembly. An occupant sensor senses occupancy of the front seating assembly. A proximity sensor senses an object in a footwell behind the front seating assembly. A rear door sensor senses the opening of a rear door. A controller activates an actuator to move the front seating assembly forward based on the sensed occupancy, a sensed object, and sensed door opening. A method of controlling a vehicle seating assembly includes the steps of: sensing the front seating assembly is unoccupied with the occupant sensor; detecting in the footwell behind the front seating assembly with the proximity sensor; sensing a rear door position with the door sensor; and moving the front seating assembly forward when the front seating assembly is unoccupied, an object is in the footwell, and the rear door is in an open position.

Vehicle seat adjustment system

Vehicle seat adjustment systems including cameras are disclosed. The vehicle seat adjustment system includes a camera configured to capture a seat arrangement of a front seat of a vehicle and one or more seats behind the front seat, a screen, communicatively coupled to the camera, configured to display the seat arrangement captured by the camera, an input device configured to receive an input from a user for adjusting positions of the one or more seats, an actuator communicatively coupled to the input device and configured to adjust positions of the one or more seats, and a controller communicatively coupled to the camera, the screen, the input device and the actuator. The controller receives the input from the input device and instruct the actuator to adjust the positions of the one or more seats based on the input from the user.

Navigation system with notification mechanism and method of operation thereof

A method of operation of a navigation system includes: determining an occupancy status with a capturing sensor based on detecting a passenger presence in real time; determining a lane availability of a lane type based on a current location; generating an access notification based on the occupancy status, the lane availability for traversing on the lane type; and updating the access notification with a control unit dynamically and in real time based on a change in the occupancy status, the lane availability, or a combination thereof for presenting on a device.

MONITORING A VEHICLE CABIN

A computer that includes memory that stores instructions executable by a processor. The computer may be programmed to: receive image data that includes a vehicle seat and an occupant within a vehicle cabin; determine, using the received data, an orientation of the seat and an orientation of the occupant; and perform a vehicle function based on the determination.
