HIGH CAPACITY CARGO AND CONTAINER DOLLY
A high capacity cargo/container dolly. The cargo/container dolly includes retractable side stops that actively retract a roller linkage assembly upon retraction of the retractable side stops rather than relying on passive gravitational forces for the retraction. In some embodiments, the retractable side stops are configured to avoid hold up on the cargo during retraction. The retractable side stops may be coupled to a retraction mechanism that may be actuated from either side of the cargo/container dolly, as well as from one or both ends of the cargo/container dolly. The dolly may include aspects that accommodates dynamic loads that occur during transport to mitigate inadvertent retraction of the retractable side stops or spurious release of catch assemblies that retains cargo on the dolly. The dolly may also include self-locking roller assemblies that release only in the presence of cargo, and deck modules that protect the deck roller from road spray contamination.

A method of unloading a modular home from a trailer includes positioning a modular home on a trailer bed. The modular home includes a first housing portion having a first vertical edge coupled to a second vertical edge of a second housing portion by a hinge, and the first and second housing portions are arranged longitudinally on the trailer. The method further includes rotating the first and second housing portions about the hinge such that the first and second housing portions overhang from the sides of the bed, forming first and second overhanging portions. The method further includes coupling at least one of (1) a first horizontal edge of the first housing portion to a second horizontal edge of the second housing portion, or (2) a third vertical edge of the first housing portion to a fourth vertical edge of the second housing portion upon completion of the rotating.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TIMELY MOVING OF A PACKAGE INSIDE A DELIVERY VEHICLE
Example embodiments described herein are directed to systems and methods related to moving a package in a delivery vehicle in a timely manner prior to the vehicle reaching a destination for the package. In an example embodiment, a computer identifies a target spot located ahead of the delivery destination. The computer then conveys an instruction to an automated package moving apparatus in the vehicle to initiate a movement of the package from a first location in a cargo area of the vehicle to a second location in the cargo area before or at a time of arrival of the vehicle at the target spot on the delivery route. The process of identifying the target spot on the delivery route can involve determining an amount of time to be allocated for the automated package moving apparatus to move the first package from the first location to the second location in the cargo area.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TIMELY MOVING OF A PACKAGE INSIDE A DELIVERY VEHICLE
Example embodiments described herein are directed to systems and methods related to moving a package in a delivery vehicle in a timely manner prior to the vehicle reaching a destination for the package. In an example embodiment, a computer identifies a target spot located ahead of the delivery destination. The computer then conveys an instruction to an automated package moving apparatus in the vehicle to initiate a movement of the package from a first location in a cargo area of the vehicle to a second location in the cargo area before or at a time of arrival of the vehicle at the target spot on the delivery route. The process of identifying the target spot on the delivery route can involve determining an amount of time to be allocated for the automated package moving apparatus to move the first package from the first location to the second location in the cargo area.

According to a method for transferring a cargo from a cargo receiving portion of a vehicle onto a cargo take-up station, the vehicle is controlled by a vehicle control unit such that the vector of the velocity of the vehicle is modified immediately before, or upon its arrival at the cargo take-up station and the vehicle is oriented by the vehicle control unit and/or by at least one guide system positioned in the region of the cargo take-up station before the arrival of the vehicle at the cargo take-up station, such that the trajectory of the cargo that is moving away from the cargo receiving portion as a result of the modification in the velocity vector, ends at a receiving region of the cargo take-up station.
