A retractable pickup truck box cover system includes a pivot joint with improved strength, durability, and manufacturability between panels of a panel assembly of the cover system. A sealing system between the panels and along ends of the panel assembly provides improved weather resistance to the cover system. A lateral support system provides resistance to binding loads when opening and closing the panel assembly. The lateral support system may also aid installation of the cover system. A ramp adjustment system allows fine tuning of the ramps that guide folding and unfolding of the panel assembly. An improved locking system and the pivot joints allow more compact storage of the panel assembly. The improved locking system includes lock rods that engage rails of the cover system. Connecting structures connect adjacent panel pairs when the cover system is deployed and do not connect the adjacent panels when the cover system is stowed. A seal of the sealing system includes angled and/or transvers ribs to support a bulb of the seal when pivotally scrubbing against the panels. The seal includes a plurality of interior portions that selectively compress and bulge between the panels. The seal includes a coating that may provide stiffness, wear resistance, hardness, and/or reduced friction. A clamping system allows installation of the cover system without drilling holes and includes built-in fixturing for locating clamps and thereby locating the cover system on the pickup truck box.

A tonneau cover is provided. That tonneau cover includes a panel, a first set of folding legs carried on the panel and a second set of folding legs carried on the panel. The first set of folding legs have a first length L.sub.1 while the second set of folding legs have a second length L.sub.2 where L.sub.1>L.sub.2. Depending upon which set of folding legs is deployed, the panel may be converted into a table or a bench as desired.

A tonneau cover is provided. That tonneau cover includes a panel, a first set of folding legs carried on the panel and a second set of folding legs carried on the panel. A tonneau system for a pickup bed comprising a bracket system connectable with a sidewall of the pickup bed and a plurality of hingeable sections pivotally coupled to each other to define a continuous surface. Each of the plurality of hingeable sections being connected to adjacent hingeable sections to permit at least some of the plurality of hingeable sections to be rolled together into a generally circular cross-section to selectively reveal the pickup bed.

A tonneau system for a pickup bed comprising a bracket system connectable with a sidewall of the pickup bed and a plurality of hingeable sections pivotally coupled to each other to define a continuous surface. Each of the plurality of hingeable sections being connected to adjacent hingeable sections to permit at least some of the plurality of hingeable sections to be rolled together into a generally circular cross-section to selectively reveal the pickup bed.

A vehicle assembly includes, among other things, a cargo bed of a vehicle, a first crossbar spanning the cargo bed, and a second crossbar spanning the cargo bed. In addition, the multifunction tonneau cover includes a plurality of legs that are received and held in the plurality of receivers and a second mode of operation as a table.

A multifunction tonneau cover is provided for a load bed of a truck. That multifunction tonneau cover includes a body having a plurality of leg receivers and a plurality of caps closing the leg receivers in a first mode of operation as a load bed cover. In addition, the multifunction tonneau cover includes a plurality of legs that are received and held in the plurality of receivers and a second mode of operation as a table.

A tonneau cover system for a vehicle having a cargo box includes a striker which is adapted to be fixed to the cargo box along with a cover disposed over the cargo box when the cover is in a closed position. Moreover, the cover includes a latch mounted to the frame. The latch engages the striker when the cover is in the closed position. The cover further includes a link which extends from the latch along the frame and a handle coupled to the latch in order to move the latch into a released position which disengages the striker. Finally, the cover includes a coupler which is coupled to the handle. The coupler moves from a first position to a second position and responds to movement of the handle with the link moving relative to the frame in order to facilitate movement of the latch into the released position.
