SMART AND COMPACT IMAGE CAPTURE DEVICES FOR IN VIVO IMAGING
20230042900 · 2023-02-09 ·

A novel in-vivo image capture device for capsule endoscope and its method of operation are described. The device includes a wafer level camera module design, high sensitivity backside illumination pixel with high definition image output and LED's to provide illumination, which is synchronized with an image sensor strobe signal. A frame rate of the device can be adjusted based on an angular motion detection from a gyroscope sensor, in which a high frame rate mode is maintained during fast motion while a low frame rate is maintained during slow or no motion. The image capture device also includes machine learning based SOC for image processing, enhancement, and compression. The SOC can process and store zone average of images. The image capture device also includes a high density flash storage to store images in the device, thus no RF transmitter is needed, which make the system more convenient to use.

Surgical vision augmentation system

A surgical vision system for imaging heat capacity and cooling rate of tissue has an infrared source configured to provide infrared light to tissue, the infrared light sufficient to heat tissue, and an infrared camera configured to provide images of tissue at infrared wavelengths. The system also has an image processing system configured to determine, from the infrared images of tissue, a cooling or heating rate at pixels of the images of tissue at infrared wavelengths and to display images derived from the cooling rate at the pixels.

Endoscope and arm system

There is provided an endoscope including a main body including a coupler to which a cable is attached, a tubular section having a tubular form, a reflector having a reflection surface that reflects light introduced from the coupler to inside of the main body and introduces the light to inside of the tubular section, a first optical system that transmits the light introduced by the reflector to the inside of the tubular section to a front-end portion of the tubular section and irradiates a subject with the light from the front-end portion, and a second optical system that transmits reflected light of the subject from the front-end portion of the tubular section to the main body side. The coupler is provided to be rotatable in the main body around a central axis of the tubular section with respect to another portion. The cable is coupled to a light source.

Noise aware edge enhancement in a pulsed fluorescence imaging system

Fluorescence imaging with reduced fixed pattern noise is disclosed. A method includes actuating an emitter to emit a plurality of pulses of electromagnetic radiation and sensing reflected electromagnetic radiation resulting from the plurality of pulses of electromagnetic radiation with a pixel array of an image sensor to generate a plurality of exposure frames. The method includes applying edge enhancement to edges within an exposure frame of the plurality of exposure frames. The method is such that at least a portion of the plurality of pulses of electromagnetic radiation emitted by the emitter comprises one or more of electromagnetic radiation having a wavelength from about 770 nm to about 790 nm.

Vaginal speculum

A speculum includes a first blade member and a second blade member. Each of the first and second blade members extend from a proximal end to a distal end. A speculum control includes a control nut threadingly engaged with a threaded shaft. Internal threads of the control nut are oversized relative external threads of the threaded shaft such that the control nut freely spins upon the threaded shaft.

MEDICAL SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND RELATED METHODS

A medical system includes a medical device and an end cap. The medical device includes a handle, including an actuation device, and a shaft extending from the handle. A distal end of the shaft includes a tab, and the tab is movable based on movement of the actuation device. The end cap includes a modular camera assembly. The modular camera assembly includes a camera, a support, an arm, and a cavity. The tab is coupleable to the modular camera assembly via the cavity, and movement of the tab controls a position of the support and the camera.

Compact multi-viewing element endoscope system

Endoscopes of this disclosure, such as colonoscopes, provide a broader field of view and allow extended access of surgical tools, and also enable efficient packing of all necessary elements in the tip section, while maintaining their functionality. Methods and systems of this disclosure include for capturing and displaying still and video images using an endoscope corresponding to a left-side looking viewing element, a front-looking viewing element, and a right-side looking viewing element of an endoscopic tip generated in a native aspect ratio.
