SELECTIVELY ILLUMINABLE METALLIC LOOKING TRIMS AND THEIR METHODS OF MANUFACTURE
A trim for an object and its method of manufacture involve providing a transparent or translucent substrate defining a top surface, applying an opaque layer above the top surface of the substrate, the opaque layer defining one or more apertures through which light can pass, and applying one or more translucent metallic-looking layers above a top surface of the opaque layer. In some implementations, the trim is a selectively illuminable trim whereby a light source is arranged beneath a bottom surface of the substrate, the light source being configured to output light through the substrate, the one or more apertures defined by the opaque layer, and the one or more metallic-looking layers.
ILLUMINATION DEVICE
An illumination device includes a housing, having an opening, a substrate, a light source, and a light guide. The opening extends through the housing from a first side to a second side of the housing, and includes a first space and a second space. The light guide is disposed across the first space and the second space. The housing has a wall surface that faces the second space and contacts the light guide, a guide rib that extends in a second direction, and a fitting wall that extends in a third direction. The light guide has a first contact surface that contacts the wall surface so as to position the light guide in a first direction, and a guide groove that is fitted to the guide rib so as to position the light guide in the third direction while guiding movement of the light guide in the second direction.
AIR VENT FOR A VEHICLE
An air vent for a vehicle includes a housing and an air guiding element that is pivotable relative to the housing about a pivot axis extending transversely to a direction of flow predetermined by the channel. A light source is arranged outside the air guiding element and a light guide is optically coupled to the light source. A first section of the light guide is guided in the region of the pivot axis from the outside of the air guiding element through a wall thereof to the inside and in this section the light guide extends coaxially to the pivot axis. Outside the air guiding element, a second section of the light guide adjoins the first section of the light guide in the direction of the light source. The first section is angled 90° relative to the second section and a chamfer formed on an outer side of the angled portion has a mirror surface directed towards an inner side of the angled portion.

AIR VENT FOR A VEHICLE
A vehicle air vent includes an illuminating device having an illuminating element, a light conductor optically coupled to the light source and the illuminating element, and a bearing having a first bearing segment and a second bearing segment mounted pivotably and/or rotatably on the first bearing segment. The first bearing segment has a light decoupling segment and the second bearing segment has a light coupling element. A wall of the outer air conducting element surrounds a wall of a roller-shaped inner air conducting element, and the inner air conducting element can be pivoted in relation to the outer air conducting element and the housing around a pivoting axis running transversely to the current direction predetermined by the channel. The pivoting axis runs perpendicularly to the pivoting axis of the outer air conducting element. A pivoting point and/or rotating point of the bearing coincide or coincides with an imaginary intersection of the pivoting axis of the air conducting element.
