There is described a vehicle color-lighting control system. The system comprises at least one sidewall (101) having an electrically-controllable coloring mechanism (106) embedded therein and arranged for coloring at least a portion of the at least one sidewall with at least one first color; a lighting sub-system (110) comprising at least one light source (112) mounted within the vehicle to illuminate an interior of the vehicle with at least one second color in a first state and with at least one third color in a second state; and a controller coupled to the coloring mechanism and the lighting sub-system and configured for operating the coloring mechanism to color the at least one portion of the at least one sidewall with the at least one first color and concurrently illuminate the interior of the vehicle with the at least one second color.

An apparatus and system are disclosed and include a vehicle interior lighting system comprising that includes a light engine with a plurality of independently addressable light emitting diode (LED) segments, each independently addressable LED segment including at least one LED, a flexible printed circuit board (PCB) having a base and plurality of legs extending from the base, each leg supporting an independently addressable LED segment, and a light guide plate configured to provide illumination from the plurality of independently addressable LED segments inside the vehicle. A processor may be configured to receive information from a o vehicle sensing system, a vehicle communication system, or a detection system, and may generate a signal. A controller may be configured to provide one or more light control signals to modify at least one light characteristic of at least one of the plurality of independently addressable LED segments based on the signal.

A steering wheel assembly having a steering wheel base plate, a safety airbag and a cover and a housing, wherein the cover and the housing define a space for accommodating an airbag and a light-emitting mark. The light-emitting mark includes an electronic control element, a mark portion, and a flexible circuit board. The electronic control element is configured to be based on a rigid printed circuit board. The flexible circuit board is configured to have a first end connected to the electronic control element and a second end connected to the mark portion so that the electronic control element controls light emission of the mark portion by means of the flexible circuit board. The electronic control element is arranged in a first position in the steering wheel assembly. The mark portion is arranged in a second position in the steering wheel assembly. The second position is positioned at the cover.

A steering wheel assembly having a steering wheel base plate, a safety airbag and a cover and a housing, wherein the cover and the housing define a space for accommodating an airbag and a light-emitting mark. The light-emitting mark includes an electronic control element, a mark portion, and a flexible circuit board. The electronic control element is configured to be based on a rigid printed circuit board. The flexible circuit board is configured to have a first end connected to the electronic control element and a second end connected to the mark portion so that the electronic control element controls light emission of the mark portion by means of the flexible circuit board. The method includes generating reflected wave information by radiating an electromagnetic wave toward a rear seat of the vehicle and receiving a reflected wave. A degree of activity is determined based on the reflected wave information and at least one device installed within the vehicle is operated based on the degree of activity.

The lighting portion overlaps the lighting device and the light from the lighting device passes through the lighting portion to the vehicular compartment and the surrounding portion is near the lighting portion.
