A vehicle includes a vehicle feature predesignated as limited-use and may determine that a conditional parameter for enabling the vehicle feature has been met, based at least on a present vehicle state. The vehicle engages the vehicle feature responsive to the present vehicle state meeting the conditional use parameter and monitors changes to the present vehicle state. Also, the vehicle automatically controls the feature in accordance with changes to the present vehicle state, to adaptively control the vehicle feature reactive to the changes to the present vehicle state relative to the conditional use parameter.

VEHICLE CHARGING STATION LOCATOR

A method for displaying charging stations for vehicles, wherein the vehicle comprises a navigation system for determining the current position of the vehicle, the location of the charging stations with which a vehicle battery of the vehicle may be charged being stored in said navigation system, and at least one headlight, comprises determining the current position of the vehicle and comparing the current position of the vehicle to the location of at least one of the stored charging stations by the navigation system and if the current position of the vehicle is within a selectable distance from the location of a charging station, activating the headlight with a pattern that may be selected.

Method for providing sound detection information, apparatus detecting sound around vehicle, and vehicle including the same

A method for providing sound detection information includes steps of: sensing sound around a host vehicle to generate sound data; generating a result of sound detection based on the sound data; calculating a rate of change based on the result of sound detection; generating a result of tunnel detection by comparing the rate of change with a threshold; and controlling at least one peripheral apparatus in the host vehicle according to the result of tunnel detection.

Systems, methods, tangible non-transitory computer-readable media, and devices for operating an autonomous vehicle are provided. For example, a method can include receiving sensor data based at least in part on sensor outputs from sensors of an autonomous vehicle. The sensor outputs can be based at least in part on a state of the autonomous vehicle and an environment including one or more objects. A plurality of spatial relations can be determined based on the sensor data. The plurality of spatial relations can include the position of the autonomous vehicle with respect to the one or more objects. A headlight configuration for headlights of the autonomous vehicle can be determined, based on the plurality of spatial relations. The headlight configuration can specify headlight states for each of the headlights. A set of the one or more headlights can be activated, based on the headlight configuration.

HEADLIGHT CONTROL BASED ON MESSAGING AND SENSOR DATA

A system and method to control headlights of a vehicle includes receiving a broadcast that indicates a location of a sending device of the broadcast. The method also includes obtaining other information that indicates at least one of a weather condition or an ambient lighting condition, and analyzing the broadcast and the other information to determine whether the headlights should be enabled or whether high beams of the headlights should be enabled. The method further includes generating a signal to control the headlights according to the analysis.

Vehicle lighting control using image processing of changes in ambient light intensity

Changes in ambient light intensity are detected by processing image data from an image capture device to determine, iteratively, a signal-to-noise ratio of the image data. The signal-to-noise ratio is a ratio of average to variance of pixel values for some of the pixels forming the image. A control output is generated, based on the signal-to-noise ratio, that is responsive to changes in ambient light intensity. The control output is used control a light source of a vehicle.
