Exterior light and charge indicator

Electric vehicles indicate charge levels in different ways. A lighting control module is communicatively is configured to illuminate an exterior light of an electric vehicle to indicate a charge status of a battery for the electric vehicle. The charge status is indicated based on varying an intensity of the exterior light, based on illuminating a subset of the exterior lights, and/or based on an animation. The display of the charge indicator varies based on a location of the vehicle, the presence of a person in proximity to the vehicle, and/or a charger connected to the vehicle.

RGB LED SIGNAL LIGHTS

A vehicle lighting fixture and system where the fixture includes light emitting diodes (LEDs) and a lens. A controller monitors vehicle conditions and sends lighting commands to activate one or more LEDs based on the vehicle conditions. The LEDs can be red-green-blue (RGB) LEDs capable of emitting various different colors. The lighting commands can include illumination color, intensity level and on/off. The LEDs can be arranged in groups, where each group is separated from the other groups. The lighting commands can include a blink/steady designation, where blink causes the group to blink in the illumination color, and steady causes the group to steadily light in the illumination color. A blink frequency can control the blink rate in the illumination color. The lighting commands can include an intensity level; where when a group is activated it is illuminated in the illumination color at the intensity level.

The present invention relates to a vehicular lighting device designed to be removably attached to a front and/or rear portion of a vehicle, and that is designed to signify intended straight-ahead travel of the vehicle. The device is comprised of a plurality of LED strips recessed under opaque glass wherein each LED strip is in a vertical arrow or chevron shape. An operator can selectively activate the lights wirelessly and upon reaching an area where a straight-ahead signal is desired, the operator can activate the system and illuminate the LED strips to visually communicate with surrounding motorists. The lights can automatically deactivate after a predetermined time. The vehicular lighting device can be integrated within or retrofitted to almost any type of vehicle, including but not limited to, cars, pickup trucks, commercial trucks, motorcycles, motorcycle helmets, bicycles, and more.
