Vehicular illumination system with reconfigurable display element
A vehicular illumination system includes an illumination module disposed at an exterior portion of a vehicle. The illumination module includes a reconfigurable display element and a light source operable to emit light. When the light source is operated, light emitted by the light source passes through the reconfigurable display element and the illumination module projects an icon established by the reconfigurable display element. The reconfigurable display element is reconfigurable to form the icon responsive to one of (i) a user selection of an icon and (ii) programming of the reconfigurable display element for an icon. When the light source is operated, light emitted by the light source passes through the reconfigurable display element and the illumination module projects the icon of the reconfigurable display element onto a surface exterior of the equipped vehicle.
VEHICULAR FUNCTION CONTROL USING SENSING DEVICE WITH BACKLIT ICONS
A method for generating an output for controlling a vehicular function of a vehicle includes providing (i) a vehicular sensing device having at least one illumination source operable to backlight a plurality of icons, each icon representative of a respective vehicle function, and (ii) a plurality of sensors, each sensor having a respective field of sensing associated with a respective icon of the plurality of icons. With the vehicular sensing device disposed at a vehicle, and with the at least one illumination source activated to backlight the plurality of icons, the backlit icons are viewable at an exterior portion of the vehicle, and the sensors sense movement of a person's hand or foot in a field of sensing of one of the sensors, and a controller generates an output to control the vehicular function that is represented by the respective backlit icon associated with that sensor.
VEHICLE EXTERIOR SYSTEM WITH LIGHT MODULE
A lighted exterior mirror system suitable for use in a vehicle includes a lighted exterior rearview mirror assembly having a light module, which includes a planar circuit board and a light guiding element. The light module includes a plurality of illumination sources disposed on a mounting side of the circuit board and operable to emit light. When the illumination sources are actuated, light emitted by each of the illumination sources is emitted in a direction normal to the mounting side of the planar circuit board. The light guiding element is configured so that light emitted by the illumination sources is redirected by the light guiding element so that light emanates from the light guiding element in a direction parallel to the mounting side of the planar circuit board and parallel to the road surface.
INTEGRATED SYSTEMS FOR PASSENGER BUS
Improved passenger access and suspension systems for passenger buses, and controllers configured for use therewith; and passenger buses incorporating such systems and controllers. Integration of access ramp, door, suspension, charge interface, and other systems provides improvements in fully- or semi-automatic deployment of features such as passenger doors and ramps, and charge interface components, as well as navigation to passenger access points.
ROAD WORKING MACHINE WITH EGRESS LIGHTING SYSTEM
A road working machine includes an operator's station that is adapted to be occupied by an operator of the road working machine. The road working machine also includes a controller and a safety light circuit that is operatively attached to the controller. The safety light circuit includes a plurality of downwardly directed safety lights that are located so as to provide lighted egress from the operator's station.
VARIABLE BEAM PATTERN LAMP SYSTEM FOR DRIVER AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
A variable beam pattern lamp system for a driver provides an input device that receives personal information of the driver, a lamp driving device that drives an indoor or outdoor lamp of a vehicle to output a beam pattern matched to the driver, based on the personal information of the driver, the personal information being input through the input device, and a vehicle controller that determines whether the personal information is registered driver information or unregistered driver information, when the personal information of the driver is input through the input device, and controls the lamp driving device to drive the indoor or outdoor lamp of the vehicle using beam patterns respectively corresponding to that the personal information is the registered driver information and that the personal information is the unregistered driver information.
Illuminating vehicle closure member systems for providing exterior lighting effects
This disclosure details illuminating vehicle closure member systems for selectively producing various exterior lighting effects. Exemplary closure member systems may include a closure member and a discrete illuminating section secured relative to the closure member and including a lighting module that is configured to produce at least one of a beltline lighting effect, a motion path lighting effect, or an operation status lighting effect at or near the closure member. A control module may control the various lighting effects emitted by the illuminating closure member system.
VEHICLE HAVING AN ACCESS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTHORIZING ACCESS TO A VEHICLE
The invention relates to a motor vehicle having an access management system for managing access to the vehicle, the access management system being configured so as to detect the presence of an identifier, such as an electronic key or a mobile telephone, close to the vehicle and to activate a courtesy light when the identifier is detected within a first zone, called courtesy zone, the access management system comprising a counter whose count value is incremented by a unit upon each activation of the courtesy light, the activation of the courtesy light no longer being possible if the count value reaches a predetermined value.
Lamp Unit and Vehicle Door Equipped with Lamp Unit
To provide a lamp unit in which rattling of a light-emitting element is prevented, a lamp unit (4) includes: a holder member (9) configured to be attached to an attachment object (3), a base board (6) provided with a light-emitting element (5) couple on a main surface thereof; a retaining member (8) that engages the holder member to sandwich the base board between the retaining member and the holder member such that the base board is retained at a prescribed position on the holder member; and a cover member (9) that is at least partially light-transmissive and is attached to the holder member such that the cover member cooperates with the holder member to define a housing chamber (90) for housing the base board and the retaining member.
Assistance method for a light control system in a motor vehicle, light control system, computer program product, and computer-readable medium
An assistance method for a light control system in a motor vehicle, having a light controller for controlling a lighting unit in the motor vehicle for lighting a motor vehicle environment, a portable unit, at least one communication interface, and an evaluation unit for evaluating signals from the portable unit received via the communication interface. The lighting unit being controllable by the light controller and in accordance with the evaluation of the signals received from the portable unit in a first assistance function, such that at least one light beam emitted by the lighting unit can be positioned as a function of the position of the portable unit. The lighting unit is controlled via the light controller, such that when the first assistance function is switched on, the light beam emitted by the lighting unit automatically tracks the portable unit in accordance with the motion trajectory of the portable unit.
