A device for motor vehicle designed to emit light in a main direction of emission (X). The lighting device has at least one mount fixedly mounted in the lighting device, at least one vane, the vane being articulated to the mount and having a panel on which is arranged at least one light source suited to emitting light in a favored direction of radiation (Y), and an actuating device suited to causing the vane to pivot with respect to the mount between a rest position and an emission position in which the favored direction of radiation (Y) of the vane is close to the main direction of emission (X) or corresponds more or less to the main direction of emission (X) of the lighting device.

Directional approach lighting

A lighting system of a vehicle is provided herein. A projector is coupled to a side structure of the vehicle. A sensor detects a remote device carried on a person approaching the vehicle. Based on a detected location of the remote device relative to the vehicle, the projector projects a light pattern onto a ground surface to define an illuminated path leading up to the vehicle and pointing towards the person.

Rear trunk button localization for end user

A system for identifying a location of an external vehicle feature on approach by a user of the vehicle is disclosed, comprising (1) a vehicle including a steering system, a drive system, a brake system, a processor, and memory; (2) a control module coupled to the processor and configured to receive a wireless communication from a mobile device indicative of a user's proximity to the vehicle; and (3) a brake module coupled to the control module and configured to illuminate a lighting device on receipt of the wireless communication to identify a location of the vehicle feature.

One or more systems and techniques for illumination of a vehicle grille assembly are provided herein. The vehicle grille assembly may include a backlight panel, a vehicle grille structure, an emblem controller, and a peripheral controller. The backlight panel includes a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs). The vehicle grille structure includes a first opening associated with an emblem and a plurality of second openings arranged circumferentially about the first opening. The emblem controller controls illumination of emblem LEDs to illuminate in an order tracing an outline associated with the emblem. The peripheral controller controls illumination of peripheral LEDs arranged circumferentially about the emblem LEDs to illuminate outwardly in a lateral direction from the center portion.

Systems and methods for vehicle recognition using mobile device

A method includes: establishing a wireless communication session with a mobile device of a user and a vehicle control unit equipped in a vehicle; receiving a sequence of vehicle light control signals transmitted from the mobile device defining activation periods during which a vehicle light of the vehicle is to be activated alternating with deactivation periods during which the vehicle light is to be deactivated; and controlling the vehicle light in synchronization with the sequence of vehicle light control signals while the sequence of vehicle light control signals is being received. The controlling of the vehicle light includes: continuously transmitting activation signals to the vehicle control unit to activate the vehicle light during each of the activation periods; and refraining from transmitting the activation signals to the vehicle control unit to deactivate the vehicle light during each of the deactivation periods.

A light assembly (2) such as for a headlight comprises a housing (9), the housing (9) having a rear and a front, whereby in use light is emitted from the front of the housing (9). A transparent or translucent light guide (10, 110) extends from the rear to the front and at least partially surrounded by the housing (9). The light guide (10, 110) lit at its rear and emits light along at least part of its length. It is provided with formations (17, 117) so as to take the appearance of cut glass or crystal and is used as a park light and as part of a welcome sequence.

Motor Vehicle
20180236929 · 2018-08-23 ·

The invention relates to a motor vehicle comprising a device for illuminating the surroundings for generating a light distribution on the ground in an area surrounding the motor vehicle. The device includes a projection module, which comprises a light-emitting means having a number of light sources and an array of projection optical units, wherein a respective projection optical unit comprises an object structure and an associated projection lens, such that, upon illumination of the array with the light-emitting means, the object structures are projected onto the ground by the associated projection lenses and the light distribution is thus generated. The array of projection optical units comprises a plurality of subarrays, which are illuminable separately with at least one light source of the light-emitting means that is associated with the respective subarray. The array has at least two different types of subarrays which, upon illumination with the at least one associated light source, generate different projections on the ground.
