According to one aspect, personalized vehicle ambient lighting on a vehicle is provided. Presence information associated with a user is detected. Image color information is captured from an image is taken by a camera such that the user is within the image. Image color information associated with the user is extracted from the image. Red, green, blue (RGB) color values indicative of a color associated with the user are created. A light emitting diode (LED) activation scheme based on the RGB color values associated with the user is generated. Portions of a plurality of RGB LEDs are activated based on the LED activation scheme.

AUTOMOTIVE LAMP CONTROL

Multifunction assembly comprised of: an outer surface structure (CAR) containing a side door (D) that supports at least one exterior mirror assembly (RVM), an exterior door handle assembly (HE) of said door, and an exterior laser emitter (LE1) which emits a fixed and direct line of laser light (LL1) downwards on said ground adjacent to the vehicle, indicating an area (DA) where the doors open and combines functions associated with other indicator signal devices (BL), sensors and open door commands, and an ultraviolet light emitter device (EUV).

METHOD FOR UNLOCKING A VEHICLE DOOR FOR AN AUTHORIZED USER
20170210342 · 2017-07-27 ·

A method for unlocking a door for an authorized user of a vehicle via a door unlocking system of the vehicle includes providing a control at the vehicle, providing a near field communication device at the vehicle, and wirelessly communicating, via the near field communication device of the vehicle, with a near field communication-enabled smartphone when the smartphone is within a threshold distance from the vehicle. Responsive to the near field communication device of the vehicle communicating with the smartphone, it is determined whether or not the smartphone is an authorized device. The smartphone is authenticated as an authorized device for communication with the near field communication device of the equipped vehicle. Responsive to the smartphone being authenticated as an authorized device, the locking mechanism is actuated, at least in part via the control, to unlock the vehicle door for the user of the authorized device.

VEHICLE REAR ILLUMINATION

A vehicle is presented that includes a lift gate operably connected to a body and operable between open and closed positions. A taillight is positioned at a rear end of the body. A cargo lamp is positioned on an inboard surface of the taillight such that the cargo lamp is concealed when the lift gate is in the closed position.

ROAD SURFACE ILLUMINATION APPARATUS

Because a road surface illumination apparatus is configured so as to include a vehicle motion predictor 2 to predict the motion which a vehicle is going to perform from now on in accordance with vehicle information acquired by a vehicle information acquisition unit 1, and a light animation setting unit 3 to set a light animation expressing the motion predicted by the vehicle motion predictor 2, and to cause an illumination device 4 to illuminate a road surface with the animation before the vehicle performs the motion, the road surface illumination apparatus can intuitively notify the motion which the vehicle is going to perform from now on to persons outside the vehicle.

Human scanning for interior preferences setup

Systems and methods for human scanning for interior preference setup are disclosed. An example disclosed vehicle includes a target lamp on a side view mirror of the vehicle. The example vehicle also includes a scanning module. Additionally, the example vehicle includes an active scanning system configured to instruct the target lamp to project a position indicator a known distance from the vehicle, determine a joint structure based on an image of a person standing at the position indicator received from the scanning module, and adjust interior preference settings based on the detected joint structure.

RUNNING BOARD ILLUMINATION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE

A running board illumination system is provided for a motor vehicle. That system includes a first light pipe having a first end and a second end. A first reflector and first light source are provided at the first end. A second reflector and second light source are provided at the second end. Light emitted from the system is shaped and directed via optical lens to fall upon a running board.

Dual purpose lighting assembly

A dual purpose lighting assembly for a vehicle is provided herein. The dual purpose lighting assembly includes a puddle lamp assembly disposed proximate a doorway and operable to emit light by luminescence to illuminate a ground area outside the vehicle and a dome lamp assembly disposed next to the puddle lamp assembly and operable to emit light by luminescence to illuminate a vehicle cabin area.
