The radar sensors also include an inner sensor adjacent an inside surface of the door to sense an object within a second sensing zone extending from the inside surface. The radar sensors also include a shut-face sensor adjacent a shut face of the door to sense an object within a third sensing zone extending from the shut face. The e-latch includes a light source for projecting a warning image and an audio source for generating an audible warning.
Exterior aircraft image projector
An exterior aircraft image projector includes at least one light source, providing a light output in operation; an optical system configured for transforming the light output of the at least one light source into a light beam and projecting said light beam onto the ground below the aircraft and the of the aircraft; a photo detector arranged to detect a brightness level (Iambient) of the ground or the exterior and configured to provide a corresponding brightness signal; and a controller, coupled to the photo detector and the at least one light source configured to control an intensity of the light output of the at least one light source as a function of the brightness level (Iambient), as provided by the photo detector via the brightness signal.
Illuminating lamp for vehicle
When a pedestrian who is crossing a road or is about to cross a road is detected and it is determined that there is a risk of the own vehicle coming into contact with the pedestrian, a figure rendering forming optical unit provided in a housing of a head lamp emits a spot of light having a predetermined width and a predetermined length to a road surface ahead in a crossing direction including the pedestrian or the like. Accordingly, the pedestrian or the like knows the presence of an approaching vehicle and a driver knows the presence of the pedestrian or the like who is crossing a road or is about to cross a road.
Camera-puddle lamp integrated apparatus and side mirror including the same
A camera-puddle lamp integrated apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus comprising a lens module; an image sensor; a light source; and a mirror module, the light source is disposed so that light emitted from the light source intersects an optical axis of the lens module in the first area, the light source being disposed in a second area outside the first area, the mirror module includes a mirror that is formed to rotate about one side thereof located in the second area as a rotation axis so as to switch between a first state where at least a portion of the mirror is moved to and disposed in the first area and a second state where the mirror is moved to and disposed in the second area, a light path of the lens module is disposed to be reflected by the mirror and directed to the light source in the first state, and the light path of the lens module is disposed to be directed to the image sensor in the second state, and the camera-puddle lamp integrated apparatus operates as a puddle lamp in the first state and operates as a camera in the second state.
VEHICLE INDICATION DEVICE
A vehicle indication device includes: a road surface drawing unit mounted on a vehicle and configured to draw one or more notification indications by light on a road surface in a direction of travel of the vehicle; and a control unit configured to, when a turn signal of the vehicle is on, cause the road surface drawing unit to either draw the one or more notification indications in a first color on the road surface or turn off display of the one or more notification indications in a case where the vehicle gives way to a pedestrian, and cause the road surface drawing unit to draw the one or more notification indications in a second color different from the first color on the road surface in a case different from the case where the vehicle gives way to a pedestrian.
Vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly with illumination module
A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror reflective element and an illumination module that includes an illumination source and a freeformed lens optic. When the illumination source is operated to emit light, emitted light passes through the freeformed lens optic. The freeformed lens optic is configured such that, with the vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly mounted at a side of a vehicle, light emitted by the illumination source that passes through the freeformed lens optic provides ground lighting that illuminates a ground region located at the side of the equipped vehicle. The ground lighting includes (a) ground illumination of the illuminated ground region and (b) within the ground illumination of the illuminated ground region, a logo formed by the freeformed lens optic. The logo formed by the freeformed lens optic has a light intensity greater than any light intensity of the ground illumination of the illuminated ground region.
Communication between autonomous vehicle and external observers
At least one embodiment of this disclosure includes a method for an autonomous vehicle (e.g., a fully autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicle) to communicate with external observers. The method includes: receiving a task at the autonomous vehicle; collecting data that characterizes a surrounding environment of the autonomous vehicle from a sensor coupled to the autonomous vehicle; determining an intended course of action for the autonomous vehicle to undertake based on the task and the collected data; and conveying a human understandable output via an output device, the human understandable output expressly or implicitly indicating the intended course of action to an external observer.
Vehicle lighting system, vehicle, inter-vehicle communication system and vehicle system
A vehicle lighting system provided in a vehicle includes: a lighting unit configured to emit light toward outside of a vehicle; and a lighting control unit configured to control the lighting unit such that the lighting unit visually presents, to an oncoming vehicle present ahead of the vehicle, predetermined information on traveling support of the oncoming vehicle, based on a vehicle width of the oncoming vehicle and a road width in a lateral region of the vehicle.
METHOD FOR MANAGING IMAGE DATA, AND VEHICLE LIGHTING SYSTEM
A method for managing image data in a vehicle lighting system that includes a lighting module and a multiplexed bus for transmitting compressed image data to the lighting module. The method includes receiving an instruction to trigger at least one lighting function to be generated by the at least one lighting module. Determining a required data rate level for transmitting the compressed image data over the multiplexed bus. Comparing the determined data rate level with a data rate threshold value of the multiplexed bus. Compressing the image data of the lighting function according to: the first frequency when the determined data rate level is lower than or equal to the data rate threshold value and according to a second frequency selected within the frequency range such that the second frequency is lower than the first frequency when the determined data rate level is greater than the data rate threshold value.
VEHICULAR DRAWING DEVICE
A vehicular drawing device is installed in the vehicle and draws, using light, an indication display with a predetermined shape on a road surface in a direction of travel of the vehicle. The indication display includes a start-traveling display drawn at a time of starting traveling and a turn indication display drawn when a turn indicator switch is turned on and the direction of travel is changed.
