MITIGATION OF ACCIDENTS DUE TO GLARE FROM SUN OR HEADLIGHTS
Various systems and methods are presented regarding utilizing technology onboard a first vehicle to mitigate road traffic accidents involving a second vehicle where the driver is affected by glare. Glare can be due to sunlight or headlight beams incident upon a driver's face. Glare can impede a driver's vision and ability to resolve a road or objects ahead. The first vehicle can detect the driver of the second vehicle may be impeded by glare, whereby, in response thereto, the first vehicle can (i) autonomously adjust operation of the first vehicle to reduce likelihood of involvement in accident with the second vehicle, (ii) can communicate with the second vehicle to beneficially affect operation of the second vehicle, and/or (iii) alert other entities using the road to presence of the first vehicle or second vehicle.
SOUND CONTROL DEVICE, STORAGE MEDIUM STORING COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR SOUND CONTROL, AND SOUND CONTROL METHOD
A sound control device has a processor configured to determine whether a driving mode of a vehicle is a first driving mode wherein degree to which the driver participates in driving is low or a second driving mode wherein the degree to which the driver participates in driving is higher, and decide to cause attenuation of predetermined sounds inside the vehicle in a first attenuation mode, using a sound control unit which generates a suppression sound signal for output of suppression sound to cause attenuation of the predetermined sounds, when the driving mode of the vehicle is the first driving mode, or decide to cause attenuation of the predetermined sound inside the vehicle in a second attenuation mode which has a smaller degree of attenuation than the first attenuation mode, when the driving mode of the vehicle is the second driving mode.
ACTION SCHEDULE NOTIFICATION DEVICE FOR VEHICLE AND ACTION SCHEDULE NOTIFICATION METHOD FOR VEHICLE
The processor 162 of ECU 160 is configured to determine an action schedule of the vehicle capable of autonomous driving and notify two or more consecutive action schedules to surrounding other vehicles, and is configured to perform at least one of notifying the two or more consecutive action schedules from the vehicle to the outside by display or voice or having the two or more consecutive action schedules notified by display or voice in the surrounding other vehicles.
Device and system for supporting cognitive information sharing in autonomous vehicle
A device and system that support cognitive information sharing of autonomous vehicles are disclosed. An autonomous traveling control device for an autonomous vehicle traveling on a road together with at least one non-autonomous vehicle includes a data collector that collects information for performing autonomous traveling, a QR code generator that generates a QR (Quick Response) code including the collected information, and a traveling controller that performs control so that autonomous traveling is performed while the QR code is output to the outside on at least one of a front, side, and rear of the autonomous vehicle.
INFORMATION NOTIFICATION DEVICE AND INFORMATION NOTIFICATION METHOD
An information notification device is provided with a notification control unit configured to notify a rear vehicle that a host vehicle is giving right of way to others via a first display provided in the host vehicle so as to be visually recognized from the rear vehicle in a stop state in which the host vehicle is stopped in order to give right of way to others.
CONTROL DEVICE, CONTROL METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY STORAGE MEDIUM
A control device includes a first processor. The first processor is configured to provide notification of a warning during autonomous driving to a first display unit of an onboard terminal installed in a vehicle; provide notification of the warning to a second display unit at a portable terminal carried by a vehicle occupant, via a second processor at the portable terminal; and in a case in which a predetermined condition has been satisfied, disable notification of the warning to the portable terminal and provide notification of the warning to the onboard terminal.
Health indicator system for a sensor pod
A health indicator system for a sensor pod includes one or more sensors associated with the sensor pod, a sensor pod housing, an internal sensor status monitoring system configured to determine a status of at least one sensor of the one or more sensors, and a plurality of visual indicators located on at least one exterior surface of the sensor pod housing, the plurality of visual indicators configured to display a predetermined configuration based on the determined status of each of the one or more sensors. The plurality of visual indicators are located on the sensor pod housing at a level such that when an external operator standing on a ground surface approaches the vehicle, the plurality of visual indicators is within the external operator's field of view.
Drive assist apparatus for vehicle
A drive assist apparatus for a vehicle includes a turn signal drive unit, an environment information obtainer, and a controller. The controller includes a blinking cycle adjuster configured to cause the turn signal drive unit to drive with drive signals indicating blinking cycles different from each other. The blinking cycles include a first blinking cycle and a second blinking cycle shorter than the first blinking cycle. The blinking cycle adjuster is configured to set the first blinking cycle for the vehicle that travels at a first position, and set the second blinking cycle for the vehicle that travels at a second position closer to the intersection than the first position.
AUTONOMOUS DRIVING VEHICLE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF
A method of controlling an autonomous vehicle includes sensing, using a first sensor, an object located in front of the autonomous vehicle as the autonomous vehicle is driving on a driving path using a low beam of a headlight mounted on the autonomous vehicle. The method also includes, when a portion of the object is exposed by the low beam and is additionally sensed by a second sensor, switching, by a processor, the low beam to a high beam.
NOTIFICATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR A VEHICLE CONTROLLED BY AN EXTERNAL INTERFACE
A vehicle including a transceiver and a processor is disclosed. The transceiver may be configured to receive a request to activate an external interface movement mode associated with the vehicle to enable a vehicle movement control via an external interface. The external interface may be configured to be removably attached to a vehicle exterior surface. The processor may be configured to obtain the request from the transceiver and determine that a predefined condition may be met responsive to obtaining the request. The processor may be further configured to activate the external interface movement mode responsive to determining that the predefined condition may be met. In addition, the processor may output a notification via a vehicle exterior light and/or a vehicle speaker responsive to activating the external interface movement mode.
