Vehicle front alert system
A lighting system enables a lighting pattern to be displayed on a vehicle when the vehicle is in motion. A lighting pattern may include lights that fluctuate (with respect to luminosity) or lights that stay, that is, are solid, at the same luminosity. The length of time that a light, such as an LED lamp, is powered on may vary. Similarly, the amount of time between two adjacent lights are powered off and powered on may also vary. As such, the lighting sequence is flexible and can be customized so that all lights are not on for the same length of time and the time between two lights being powered may vary. A vehicle front alert system allows for improved perception of speed of an approaching vehicle, human, or object.
Rear window security grid and light system
A rear window security grid and light system has a frame, a grid within it, cross units forming the grid, and a left member and a right member in each cross unit. The grid has a primary cross unit centered upon the frame. Upon each left member and each right member, the invention has at least one light emitting diode, or LED. The LED operate from the power supply of a vehicle or a separate battery. The LED provide at least three patterns: left chevron, right chevron, and a letter X. Each left member has an upper portion and a lower portion and each right member has an upper portion and a lower portion with LED upon each portion. The controls allow for selection of the chevron's direction, interval speed to simulate motion, and operation of the letter X upon each cross unit.
VEHICLE COMMUNICATION GRILLE
A vehicle lighting system includes an illuminated grille assembly. The illuminated grille assembly includes a plurality of grille bars each having at least one light source. A control system is configured to control the illuminated grille assembly to emit combinations of lighting effects from the plurality of grille bars for indicating a plurality of visually distinctive operating behaviors of the vehicle.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A LIGHTING OF A MOTOR VEHICLE AND MOTOR VEHICLE FOR CARRYING OUT THE METHOD
A method for operating illumination of a motorized transportation vehicle wherein a light appearance is produced, which extends over at least a large portion of a width of the motorized transportation vehicle. The light appearance becomes visible at least for a transportation vehicle driver when the motorized transportation vehicle is switched on and is subsequently changed to display a driving readiness of the motorized transportation vehicle. In this way, a very pronounced, brand-individualizing visualization of the driving readiness becomes possible, which is easily perceived by the transportation vehicle driver.
VEHICLE DRIVER NUDGE SYSTEM
A driver nudge system is operated within a vehicle to indicate a warning to a driver of the vehicle. The system includes a steering wheel, a vehicle sensor monitoring an operating environment of the vehicle, and an electric motor connected to the steering wheel configured to nudge the steering wheel in an opposite direction to a threat diagnosed according to data from the vehicle sensor.
METHOD FOR OPERATING AN EXTERNALLY VISIBLE ILLUMINATION OF A TRANSPORTATION VEHICLE AND TRANSPORTATION VEHICLE FOR CARRYING OUT THE METHOD
A method for operating the externally visible lighting of a motorized transportation vehicle wherein a number of luminous regions are varied sequentially producing a light effect image varying continuously relative to the motorized transportation vehicle in a longitudinal direction of the motorized transportation vehicle. The sequential variation of the luminous regions is generated when the motorized transportation vehicle is driving off so that the light effect image moves with at least one change boundary region relative to the motorized transportation vehicle in the opposite direction to the current direction of travel.
Vehicle badge with improved resolution
A vehicle badge is provided herein. A first number of light sources is configured to successively illuminate, wherein at least a majority of the first number of light sources ramps to a maximum intensity within a corresponding time interval prior to a time period elapsing. A second number of light sources is configured to successively illuminate, wherein each of the second number of light sources ramps to a maximum intensity once the time period is reached.
AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE SERVICE LIGHTS
An autonomous vehicle includes a vehicle body and an illuminated stripe assembly mounted to the vehicle body. The illuminated stripe assembly is adapted to emit a plurality of stripe patterns that are visually distinctive from one another for indicating different operating states of the autonomous vehicle.
Three mode police mirror
A warning indicator system for a vehicle side-view mirror includes light sources disposed to emit light in patterns and/or colors visible through a partially light-reflective surface. One or more processors are operatively configured to actuate the light sources in predetermined sequences defining a stealth mode, a pursuit mode, and a traffic advisor mode. The partially light-reflective surface may be a light transmitting substrate having a coating of a reflective substance provided in a thickness allowing at least a partial transmission of light therethrough. The light sources may be printed light-emitting diodes (LEDs). Disposing the light sources in desired patterns to emit desired colors on actuation in a predetermined sequence allows configuring the side mirrors to emit visible light signals indicative of the stealth mode, a pursuit mode, and a traffic advisor mode.
Device for Displaying Information in Motor Vehicles
A device for a motor vehicle for displaying information includes an instrument panel and an information device configured to display information at various locations on the instrument panel so as to be visible to a driver of the motor vehicle. The device also includes a control device which is configured to receive information specifications that are relevant to vehicle management and result from at least one of: a position of the vehicle, a position of the vehicle relative to a roadway, a position of the vehicle relative to a driving lane, and a position of road users in a surrounding of the vehicle. The control device also determines a display location on the instrument panel based on the information specifications, and displays an item of information on the instrument panel at the determined display location.
