Vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly with extendable and retractable mirror head
A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror head adjustably mounted at a mounting arm via a link that pivotally attaches at one end to the mirror head and pivotally attaches at another end to the mounting arm. With the mounting arm attached at the side of a vehicle, the mirror head is adjustable relative to the mounting arm between a retracted position and an extended position. An adjustment mechanism is operable to adjust the mirror head relative to the mounting arm and includes an electrically operated motor that operates to pivotally adjust the link, which swings the mirror head along an arcuate path. When the motor is operated to pivotally adjust the link to adjust the mirror head relative to the mounting arm, an angle of the mirror head relative to the side of the vehicle at which the vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly is attached is also adjusted.
Mirror assembly for autonomous maneuvers
A mirror assembly for use with mirror housing on autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicle, including a reflector for collecting and distributing emitted light to a plurality of icon regions, a circuit board, a plurality of light sources mounted to the circuit board and positioned to selectively emit light to illuminate the icon regions, wherein the circuit board provides selective illumination of the icon regions via the light sources in response to one or more received signal inputs from the vehicle indicating an imminent autonomous vehicle maneuver, a mirror having a front surface and a rear surface, wherein the reflector is secured at least indirectly to the rear surface and a plurality of icons visible along a driver viewing axis relative to the front surface of the mirror during illumination, wherein the plurality of icons are positioned over the icon regions to allow for selective icon illumination via a selected icon region.
METHOD OF ASSEMBLING MIRROR REFLECTIVE ELEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY FOR EXTERIOR REARVIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY
A method for assembling a mirror reflective element sub-assembly for a vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes assembling an indicator module by heat staking a printed circuit board at a receiving part of a housing to form a housing and printed circuit board assembly and dispensing potting material at the printed circuit board to seal the printed circuit board at the housing and aligning and taping a diffuser at the housing. A back plate is provided that has an indicator attaching portion for attaching the indicator module. The back plate is placed at a support fixture and a mirror reflective element is attached at the back plate. The indicator module is attached at the indicator attaching portion of the back plate. Light emitted by the indicator module, when electrically powered to emit light, passes through the mirror reflective element at an aperture of the back plate.
WATER REPELLENT FILM FOR CAR SIDE-VIEW MIRROR, AND MOLDING APPARATUS THEREFOR
Proposed is a water-repellent film for an automobile side-view mirror and a press-forming apparatus of the same, and more specifically, a water-repellent film for an automobile side-view mirror and a forming apparatus of the water-repellent film which has good water repellency and can come into close contact with the side-view mirror. The water-repellent film includes: a substrate layer provided to adhere to the side-view mirror; an adhesive layer that is formed under the substrate layer and has adhesion such that the substrate layer adheres to the side-view mirror; and a coating layer that is laminated on the substrate layer.
VEHICLE BODY RESIN MEMBER, WINDOW MEMBER WITH VEHICLE BODY RESIN MEMBER, AND VEHICLE
The present invention relates to a vehicle body-use resin member disposed on an upper portion of a window member in a vehicle. At least one in-vehicle member is mounted on the vehicle body-use resin member. The vehicle body-use resin member has a visible light transmittance of 50% or less. The visible light transmittance may be 20% or less.
System and method for enhancing driver situational awareness in a transportation vehicle
A situation communication display enhances driver situational awareness in a transportation vehicle. The situation communication display includes a display member with a plurality of display surface areas. A first surface area displays a relatively focused driver field of view. Second and third surface areas each display wider driver fields of view. First, second, and third transition zones are located adjacent respective first, second, and third surface areas. The transition zones divide the first, second, and third surface areas and define a visual transition between the relatively focused driver field of view displayed by the first surface area and the wider driver fields of view displayed by the second and third surface areas.
Outside mirror type display apparatus for vehicle having folding display unit
A display apparatus used for a vehicle is provided. The display apparatus may include a display unit configured to show an external environment around the vehicle and having flexibility, and a housing configured to support the display unit, in which the display unit is folded when the display apparatus is not used, the display unit is unfolded when the display apparatus is used, and an operation of the display unit is performed by a drive unit embedded in the housing.
ELECTROCHROMIC MIRROR CONTROL DEVICE
A control device of an ECM employs a current control method in place of a voltage control method in order to remove heat generation, and can stably provide a desired current and voltage to an ECM regardless of an input voltage. The control device of an ECM may include: an illuminance sensor unit configured to sense the brightness of light; an MCU configured to output a control signal corresponding to the brightness level of the sensed light; an ECM control unit configured to generate and output a constant current having a current value adjusted to correspond to the brightness level of the sensed light, in response to the control signal; and an ECM including a material to cause a chemical change in which the color thereof changes while the material is oxidized by the constant current, and having reflectivity adjusted to correspond to the adjusted current value of the constant current.
OUTSIDE MIRROR TYPE DISPLAY APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE
A display apparatus used for a vehicle is provided. The display apparatus may include a display unit configured to show an external environment around the vehicle and having flexibility, and a housing configured to support the display unit, in which the display unit is folded when the display apparatus is not used, the display unit is unfolded when the display apparatus is used, and an operation of the display unit is performed by a drive unit embedded in the housing.
Sideview mirror assembly with an extendable camera
A sideview mirror assembly for a vehicle can comprise a body including a sideview mirror housing. The sideview mirror assembly can include a camera located in the body about the sideview mirror housing. The camera can have a field-of-view including an above-horizontal region directed rearward toward an overhead target position past the sideview mirror housing. The camera can be mounted for movement relative to the body between a normal position, in which the sideview mirror housing intersects the camera and the overhead target position in the above-horizontal region, and an extended position, in which the sideview mirror housing does not intersect the camera and the overhead target position in the above-horizontal region. Movement of the camera from the normal position to the extended position can unblock camera visibility of the overhead target position by the sideview mirror housing.
