MOTORCYCLE SIDE-VIEW MIRROR
A side-view mirrors for a motorcycle is presented. The side-view mirrors have a sensor for dimming the side-view mirrors for motorcycles. The sensor has a computer and a sensing field. The computer receives signaling from the sensing field and computes a result. When the amount of light has exceeded a threshold, a signal is sent to a communicatively coupled mirror to dim the mirrors to provide safety for the motorcyclist.
Monitor display system and display method of the same
According to one embodiment, a vehicle-mounted monitor display system includes a camera which captures an image of outside scenery which is a blind spot of a driver created by a pillar, a display which displays an image on the pillar, and an image processing device which generates a display image by cutting out the image captured by the camera in conformity with a display range of the pillar, and outputs the display image to the display. In the image processing device, a resolution of the display image is reduced in a state where a vehicle equipped therewith is moving.
Vehicle visual recognition device
Wind noise is suppressed from occurring in a gap between a support body and a housing body, without obstructing movement of the housing body with respect to the support body. An outer mirror device includes a mirror that assists visual recognition by an occupant of a vehicle, a visor that houses the mirror, a base that supports the visor such that the visor is capable of moving, and a seal member that is provided to the base. The seal member is separated from the visor when a speed of the vehicle is a predetermined speed or lower, and abuts the visor when the speed of the vehicle exceeds the predetermined speed so as to seal at least part of a space between the visor and the base.
Viewing device for a vehicle
A viewing device for a vehicle including: a supporting body provided at a vehicle body side; a pivoting body that is pivotably supported at the supporting body, with a gap being provided between the pivoting body and the supporting body in a radial direction of pivoting; a viewing instrument that is provided at the pivoting body, that facilitates viewing by a vehicle occupant, and that is folded in or folded out as a result of the pivoting body being pivoted to one side or to another side; and a restricting portion that is provided at one of the supporting body or the pivoting body, and that restricts communication between one side and another side of the gap, with the restriction of communication between the one side and the other side of the gap being released when the viewing instrument is folded in or folded out.
Video-based rear-view mirror system for vehicles including motorcycles
An improved video-based rear-view mirror system for vehicles including motorcycles (but also with application to other vehicles including cars, trucks, bicycles, and so on) includes at least one digital display screen configured to be mounted in a side-mirror positioned unit; and at least one camera unit coupled to the digital display screen, such that the digital display screen is configured to display video data captured by the camera unit; wherein the system is configured such that the video data displayed by the at least one display screen is tuned to provide a side-mirror proxy view.
Method and device for learning generating lane departure warning (LDW) alarm by referring to information on driving situation to be used for ADAS, V2X or driver safety required to satisfy level 4 and level 5 of autonomous vehicles
A method for generating a lane departure warning (LDW) alarm by referring to information on a driving situation is provided to be used for ADAS, V2X or driver safety which are required to satisfy level 4 and level 5 of autonomous vehicles. The method includes steps of: a computing device instructing a LDW system (i) to collect information on the driving situation including information on whether a specific spot corresponding to a side mirror on a side of a lane, into which the driver desires to change, belongs to a virtual viewing frustum of the driver and (ii) to generate risk information on lane change by referring to the information on the driving situation; and instructing the LDW system to generate the LDW alarm by referring to the risk information. Thus, the LDW alarm can be provided to neighboring autonomous vehicles of level 4 and level 5.
VEHICULAR EXTERIOR REARVIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY WITH EXTENDABLE AND RETRACTABLE MIRROR HEAD
A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror head adjustably mounted at a mounting arm via a link that pivotally attaches at one end to the mirror head and pivotally attaches at another end to the mounting arm. With the mounting arm attached at the side of a vehicle, the mirror head is adjustable relative to the mounting arm between a retracted position and an extended position. An adjustment mechanism is operable to adjust the mirror head relative to the mounting arm and includes an electrically operated motor that operates to pivotally adjust the link, which swings the mirror head along an arcuate path. When the motor is operated to pivotally adjust the link to adjust the mirror head relative to the mounting arm, an angle of the mirror head relative to the side of the vehicle at which the vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly is attached is also adjusted.
Support assembly for mirror
A support assembly for a mirror head includes a support arm defining a longitudinal axis. A top slot wall and a bottom slot wall of the support arm extend at least partly along the longitudinal axis and at least partly define a slot therebetween. The top slot wall defines an opening therethrough. A ramp extends from the bottom slot wall towards the top slot wall adjacent to the opening. The support assembly further includes inboard and outboard trunnions that are adapted to be at least partly and movably received in the slot. A carriage is coupled to the outboard trunnion and the mirror head. A support brace is rotationally coupled to the inboard and outboard trunnions. The outboard trunnion selectively travels on the ramp and through the opening to allow the support brace to be inclined obliquely relative to the longitudinal axis and the carriage to be rotated.
Vehicle Side Mirror with Hidden Blind Spot Mirror Device
A vehicle side mirror with hidden blind spot mirror device is provided. The device is comprised of a main mirror with at least one display screen positioned under the top surface of the main mirror. The device provides an improved vehicle side mirror with a blind spot mirror display that is only visible (i.e., illuminated) when a secondary vehicle is detected in the blind spot of the vehicle the device is attached to.
Exterior mirror assembly with blind zone indication module
A vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror reflector sub-assembly having a mirror reflective element, a mirror back plate, a heater pad, and a blind zone indication module that includes a plastic housing. When at least one light emitting diode of the blind zone indication module is electrically powered, light emitted by the light emitting diode exits the blind zone indication module via a light-transmitting portion of the front end of the plastic housing. With the blind zone indication module disposed at the mirror reflective element, and with the light-transmitting portion of the front end of the plastic housing juxtaposed with a light-transmitting aperture of the mirror back plate, light emitted by the light emitting diode passes through the mirror reflective element and illuminates an icon of the mirror reflective element that is viewable by a driver of a vehicle equipped with the mirror assembly.
