Methods and apparatus for securely transporting passengers and bicycles are described herein. An example method includes registering a user via a portable device, verifying registration of the user, and reserving a seat for the user in a vehicle, the vehicle to transport the user and a bicycle of the user from a first location to a second location, the bicycle having a reserved space on a bicycle rack in the vehicle.
CONTROL SYSTEM FOR A DEPLOYABLE PLATFORM
The present invention provides a control module (10) for controlling powered operation of a platform (2) for a vehicle compartment (101) that is movable between a first position in which the platform engages a moveable structure (102) of the vehicle (100) and a second position; wherein the control module (10) is configured to control movement of the platform (2) from the second position to the first position by first controlling a powered actuation means (5) to move the platform (2) from the second position through the first position and into a third position, and then controlling the powered actuation means (5) to move the platform (2) from the third position into contact with the moveable structure (102) to thereby bring the platform (2) into the first position.
Front trunk including moveable platform
This relates to a front trunk including a moveable platform. In some aspects, the techniques described herein relate to a motor vehicle, including: a front trunk including a platform configured to move between a retracted position and a deployed position, wherein, when the platform is in the retracted position, a panel on a top of the platform provides a floor of the front trunk, and wherein, when the platform is in the deployed position, the panel provides a work surface.
LUGGAGE LOADING DEVICE FOR VEHICLES
A luggage loading device for vehicles includes a main body unit configured such that a loading area is capable of being divided into a plurality of sub-loading areas configured to load luggage therein, and the main body unit is configured to selectively slide along a movement path in a vehicle. The loading area is formed by guide frames provided in forward and rearward directions and side walls provided in leftward and rightward directions.
CARGO STORAGE SYSTEM FOR A VEHICLE
A cargo storage system for a vehicle configured to be installed in the rear storage area of the vehicle. The illustrative cargo storage system includes a plurality of upright support brackets and a cargo shelf. The cargo shelf illustratively includes at least one reinforcing rib for strengthening the cargo shelf. The cargo shelf may also include an adjustable sliding panel configured to move relative to the cargo shelf
PIVOTABLE LUGGAGE LOCKER, AND VEHICLE HAVING A LUGGAGE LOCKER
A pivotable luggage locker for a vehicle, the luggage locker including a luggage compartment which has a bottom and the rear wall, and a first holder. The first holder is attached on an outer side of the rear wall and is set up to hold the luggage compartment rotatably. In addition, the luggage locker includes a second holder which is attached in a region of an upper side of the luggage compartment, and an actuating mechanism which is coupled rotatably to the luggage compartment on the second holder and is set up to rotate the luggage compartment about the first holder. Furthermore, a vehicle having a pivotable luggage locker of this type is disclosed.
Baggage restraint system
A baggage restraint system for the containment of luggage and other personal or group articles, such as camping gear or sport equipment, to the confines of two or more successive seats in a commercial passenger vehicle, such as a school bus. The system comprises an enclosure, and the means by which it may be releasably secured to the vehicle cabin floor. The system's enclosure is constructed of tear-resistant fabric panels, as an essentially rectangular or forward-leaning, four-sided cuboid. The enclosure is shaped and dimensioned to envelope a predetermined number of seats in a target vehicle. The system's means of securement include: a plurality of depending loops, affixed along one or more of the enclosure's bottom and windows-side edges; a plurality of floor and sidewall anchor tabs; and a plurality of carabiners and adjustable straps, linking each anchor tab to one of the depending loops.
Overhead storage bin utilization detection and display system
A storage bin space utilization detection and display system for use with a storage bin for storing one or more objects, including: a plurality of sensors disposed within an interior portion of the storage bin, wherein each of the plurality of sensors is associated with one of a plurality of regions defined within the interior portion of the storage bin, wherein each of the plurality of sensors is operable for detecting a presence/absence of the one or more objects within the associated region defined within the interior portion of the storage bin; and a visual indicator device operable for indicating the detected presence/absence of the one or more objects within the associated region defined within the interior portion of the storage bin to an individual outside of the storage bin.
Slider mechanism for delivery container
A delivery container is designed to fit into the rear passenger compartment of a vehicle, such as an autonomous vehicle (AV) that makes deliveries without a human driver. The delivery container has a drawer that can move from one side of the delivery container near a first rear door to the other side of the delivery near the opposite rear door. A single load of items can be accessed from the same side of the AV, or two different loads may be accessed from the same side. The drawer can automatically or manually move items from one side of the vehicle to the other.
RAIL SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE SHELVING AND CANOPIES
A vehicle rail system has a frame mountable to a vehicle, the frame having a plurality of support legs, the support legs interconnected via support beams. One or more fixed rails are mountable to the support frame, each fixed rail comprising a plurality of bearings thereon and configured to receive a sliding rail, the sliding rail having a plurality of grooves for receiving the bearings of the fixed rail so as to be slidable thereon. The bearings are located along regular intervals of the fixed rails on each non-mounted side. The sliding rail is then able to slide along the bearings of the fixed rail, extending to the exterior of the frame mounted in the vehicle.
