A kit for securing cargo within an interior of a vehicle is provided. The vehicle has an occupant restraint system including a coupling member. The kit includes a harness having at least one connecting ring. The harness is configured to hold the cargo. The kit includes a first strap having a first connector at a first end releasably coupled to the coupling member and a second connector at a second end coupled to the at least one connecting ring. The kit includes an energy absorbing element defined on the strap between the first end and the second end. The energy absorbing element is deformable to absorb a force acting on the cargo.

System to secure objects within a vehicle

A system that can secure one or more objects in a vehicle interior is herein presented. The system includes: a rail, quick-release fastener, and belt. The rail is configured to mount in the vehicle interior and includes multiple adjustment points. The quick-release fastener is configured to move along a portion of the rail and configured to releasably fasten to each of the adjustment points. The quick-release fastener also has a connection point. The belt includes two straps releasably fastened to each other by a buckle. The belt also has two opposing strap ends and each strap end is configured to fasten to the connection point. The belt is moreover configured to secure one or more objects within the vehicle interior.

Living Storage Structure for a Vehicle

A storage structure for mounting on an interior mounting surface of a vehicle is described. The storage structure includes a sheet of flexible fabric that forms a pocket on the interior mounting surface. The fabric pocket can be opened and closed with one or more shape memory alloy actuators. The interior mounting surface can be a seatback, door trim, a wall of a cargo area, etc.

A fixture is configured to secure objects in a trunk of a passenger vehicle. The fixture includes a frame, a net mounted in and held flat by the frame. A mount is configured to secure the frame to a structure of the passenger vehicle such as the loading floor in the trunk of the vehicle. The fixture may be positionable between a vertical or upright position in which the fixture extends away from the structure and a horizontal or prone position in which the fixture lays down on top of the structure.

A net pocket apparatus for a vehicle includes a base frame having guide rails formed respectively on opposite inner surfaces. A movable frame has guide protrusions moving along the guide rails. The movable frame is nested in and fixed to the base frame when the guide protrusions are positioned at one ends of the guide rails while the movable frame is fixed in a form of protruding from the base frame when the guide protrusions are positioned at the other ends of the guide rails. A net wire with opposite ends is rotatably coupled to the movable frame such that it is fixed to the movable frame in a form of being nested in the movable frame or a form of protruding from the movable frame. A net is coupled to the net wire.

Conveyance seat and conveyance seat manufacturing method

A conveyance seat includes a large-capacity pocket formed on the rear surface of a seat back of the seat. The pocket has: a pocket forming sheet overlapping an outer surface of a back side skin material positioned on the rear surface of the seat back; and a pocket sewn portion. The pocket sewn portion has: right and left first sewn portions and right and left second sewn portions formed at positions sandwiching an opening portion in a seat width direction to form the opening portion of the pocket in an upper end portion of the pocket forming sheet; right and left third sewn portions forming right and left outer edge portions of the pocket; and a fourth sewn portion forming a lower edge portion of the pocket. The right and left second sewn portions are disposed inside the right and left third sewn portions in the seat width direction.

The trunk further includes retractable dividers that are extendable from the floor, each having a rod at a free end thereof. The carriage is configured to receive first ends of the rods for supporting the respective divider when extended to form a customizable array of storage receptacles.

CARGO RESTRAINING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE

A cargo restraining system has a frame and a cargo net carried on the frame. The frame and the cargo net are displaceable between a first position partitioning a cargo area from a passenger area of a motor vehicle and a second position overlying cargo supported on a cargo area floor of the motor vehicle. A related method is also disclosed.
