ADVANCED APPLICATOR SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems, methods, and apparatuses are provided for an advanced gynecological applicator. In accordance with some embodiments, a brachytherapy applicator head and assembly is provided. The assembly may include two ovoid tubes configured to receive radiation sources, the two ovoid tubes combining to form a rounded applicator having a middle opening and comprising a plurality of needle holes to guide interstitial needles. The assembly may also include a central applicator tube configured to receive a radiation source that is located within the middle opening. Additionally, the assembly may include a vaginal cap that includes a tool-free connection to the two ovoid tubes and includes needle guides that align with the needle holes of the two ovoid tubes. The assembly may include a one-piece template for securing interstitial needles. The assembly may further include a tool-free connector to secure the two ovoid tubes to the central applicator tube.
Bend limiting access sheath
The present invention is an access sheath comprising a tube or sheath with a passageway primarily for endoscopic procedures accessing the ureter through the bladder. The sheath has a bend limiting feature to limit the bend angle or bend radius. The sheath exhibits flexibility up to this limit at which point it becomes rigid. Excessive force is required to bend the sheath beyond the bend limit and would result in the kinking of the tubular frame.

SELF-RETAINING RADIAL TISSUE RETRACTOR
Disclosed is a self-retaining retractor configured for insertion into an orifice. The self-retaining retractor may include a flexible structure made of, for example, one or more of an elastic polymer sheet and an elastic polymer mesh. Further, the self-retaining retractor may include a flexible or shape memory material, such as, for example, nitinol, polymer or elastomer, incorporated in the flexible structure. Further, the shape memory material may be configured to change a state of the self-retaining retractor between a collapsed state and an expanded state. Accordingly, in the collapsed state, the self-retaining retractor may be conveniently inserted into the orifice. Subsequently, the self-retaining retractor may be changed to the expanded state in which the self-retaining retractor applies outwardly radial force causing the orifice to increase in size.
Bulking agent applicator for treating female urinary incontinence
Applicator for injecting a bulking agent at one or more selected submucosal positions in a periurethral tissue of a female patients' urethra. The applicator comprises a lance, such as a cystoscope with a distal end provided with one or more optical sensors, and a needle guide with a bore receiving the lance. The needle guide comprises needle channels at different angular positions, each needle channel extending between a needle entrance surface and an opposite shoulder surface. The needle channels are oriented to direct a needle via external peripheral tissue of the urethral meatus to a submucosal position at a urethra section, e.g., within the optical scope of the optical sensor.
