Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an automobile. The automobile includes a housing; and a protection device arranged between the housing and a cabin of the automobile; wherein a buffer cushion is formed by at least a part of the protection device, when a collision of the automobile occurs.

Deformation structure and pedestrian protection device having a deformation structure

A deformation structure has at least a first layer and a second layer, which are spaced apart from each other and are mounted to be movable relative to each other in the deformation direction or load direction. The first layer and the second layer have complementary protrusions and recesses, which are designed such that the protrusions of the first layer can dip into the recesses of the second layer and vice versa. The first layer and the second layer are connected to each other by deformable connecting pieces such that, in the event of a high impulse in the deformation direction, the protrusions of the first layer dip into the recesses of the second layer and the protrusions of the second layer dip into the recesses of the first layer such that the deformation structure is deformed in the deformation direction at a relatively low level of force and, in the event of a low impulse in the deformation direction, the protrusions of the first layer hit the protrusions of the second layer such that the deformation structure is deformed further in the deformation direction at a relatively high level of force. The deformation control device is formed or produced separately from the first and the second layer and is removably or non-removably connected to the first layer and the second layer.

Pedestrian Protection Device for a Motor Vehicle
20170282823 · 2017-10-05 ·

A pedestrian protection device for a motor vehicle, for example for a motor vehicle front end or a motor vehicle rear end, has a bumper crossmember with a deformation element arranged on the outer side thereof, i.e. the side directed towards the front. In particular, the deformation element is arranged between a bumper skin and the bumper crossmember. The deformation element has a first element and a second element which are displaceable relative to one another in the event of a collision. Furthermore, the pedestrian protection device has a locking mechanism which, in dependence on a displacement speed, and thus on a collision speed, of the motor vehicle, and while exploiting a mass inertia of a locking element which is arranged or mounted on the first element or the second element, is adjustable between a locked state in which a displacement of the first element relative to the second element is at least partially prevented by, in particular, positive engagement, and an unlocked state in which a displacement of the first element is allowed.

Vehicle body reinforcement apparatus

A vehicle body reinforcement apparatus extending along at least one of a front-rear direction and a width direction of a vehicle body, the vehicle body reinforcement apparatus includes at least two brackets via which the vehicle body reinforcement apparatus is fixed to the vehicle body, a housing connected to one of the two brackets, a rod including a first end portion that is movably housed within the housing and a second end portion connected the other of the two brackets, a spring member disposed between the first end portion of the rod and the housing and applying a biasing force to the rod against a force for increasing and decreasing a distance between the two brackets in an axial direction of the rod, and a friction mechanism mounted to the housing and pressing the rod in a direction orthogonal to the axial direction of the rod.

Vehicle energy management system with load-bearing component in wheel cavity

An energy management system for a vehicle includes a load-bearing component operatively positioned in a wheel cavity rearward of a tire and wheel assembly in the wheel cavity. The load-bearing component is configured to limit movement of the tire and wheel assembly in the wheel cavity under a load applied to the vehicle forward of the tire and wheel assembly and offset from a longitudinal centerline of the vehicle.

Deformation Element Arrangement and Motor Vehicle Having a Deformation Element Arrangement

A deformation element arrangement is provided for a motor vehicle, having a deformation element and a vibration-generating device. The vibration-generating device is arranged and designed in such a way that the deformation element, when required, can be set in vibration so that a deformation behavior and/or a flow behavior of the deformation element is/can be varied in accordance with a request condition.

Rotatable wheel deflector

A vehicle includes a vehicle frame and a swing arm rotatably coupled to the vehicle frame at a rotatable connection. A track curves along a curved path. The track is fixed relative to the swing arm and spaced from the rotatable connection. An anchor is fixed relative to the vehicle frame. The track is slideably engaged with the anchor along the curved path of the track. A pyrotechnic actuator is between the vehicle frame and the swing arm.
