The open faced channel includes a second engagement feature slidably engageable with the first engagement feature on the body of the insertion tool. The two bores are adapted for the disposal of a fastener driver tool therethrough.

FRONT VEHICLE-BODY STRUCTURE

An impact absorbing member is provided below a fascia upper member (upper-face forming member) which forms an upper face of a front end portion of a vehicle. The impact absorbing member comprises a front side part which includes a front wall portion, a top wall portion, and a rear wall portion so as to have a U-shaped cross section opening downward and a flat-plate shaped rear side part which extends rearward from a lower end of the rear wall portion. A rear end portion of the rear side part is held at a radiator shroud as a vehicle-body-side member, and the rear side part is configured to slant obliquely forward and downward.

ADJUSTABLE LENGTH BUMPER GUARD
20170349125 · 2017-12-07 ·

A length-adjustable protector that overlies, and protects, either a front or a rear bumper cover of a vehicle, and self-adjusts to the length of either the front or the rear bumper cover. The protector includes an inner, an outer, and a pair of intermediate layers. The inner layer faces, and overlies, a central portion of the length of either the front or the rear bumper cover. The outer layer overlies the inner layer. The pair of intermediate layers extend movably between the inner and outer layers, face, and overlie, remaining end portions of the length of either the front or the rear bumper covers, and in doing so, self-adjusts to the length of either the front or the rear bumper covers.

VEHICLE HOOD BUMPER
20230182667 · 2023-06-15 ·

A hood bumper for a vehicle having a hood including: a housing having a wall, a base, an internal chamber, and an opening to the internal chamber. The wall having an interior surface and an exterior surface. the interior surface defines the internal chamber. The hood bumper further including a biasing mechanism operably connected to the housing and a plunger operably connected to the biasing mechanism and configured to receive an exerted force from the hood. The hood bumper further including a bumper head operably connected to the housing and a support frame operably connecting the bumper head to the housing. The plunger is configured to first move into the bumper head to absorb an impact force to the hood, next the bumper head compresses to further absorb the impact force, and then the support frame collapses to even further absorb the impact force.

Attachment for Fixing to a Vehicle Body
20170341608 · 2017-11-30 ·

An attachment for connection to a body of a motor vehicle. The attachment having a cover member composed of plastic, a reinforcement member composed of plastic, and a stiffening member composed of metal inserted therebetween. The reinforcement member is fastened to the cover member such that at least one of the reinforcement member and the cover member at least partially engage around the stiffening member at least sectionally. As a result, the stiffening member is surrounded at least sectionally on at least three sides by the cover member and the reinforcement member. In this way, the stiffening member is thereby fixed in a locationally and positionally accurate manner.

Vehicle front bumper and vehicle-body structure including the same

A front bumper includes a bumper fascia, an upper panel, and a shock absorbing member and a rigidity member in the interior of the upper panel. The shock absorbing member is formed in a hat shape in cross section by a front wall, an upper wall (a front-side upper wall and a rear-side upper wall), a rear wall, and a lower wall. The rigidity member includes an upper end portion fixed to the upper wall, a lower end portion fixed to the lower wall, and an intermediate portion connecting the upper end portion and the lower end portion in the vehicle up-down direction. The intermediate portion is spaced apart from the rear wall in the vehicle front-rear direction.

Body rear structure of a battery electric motor vehicle

A body rear structure of a battery electric motor vehicle includes a rear bottom part. A bottom side of the body rear structure has at least one plastics sacrificial part which is fastened to the rear bottom part and extends downwards away from the rear bottom part and which is so configured that it forms a deformation element in the event of mechanical contact with a wheel stop at an electric charging station.

Bumper Cross Beam For A Motor Vehicle
20220363211 · 2022-11-17 ·

A bumper crossmember for a motor vehicle having a crossmember extending transversely to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and two crashboxes connected thereto. Each crashbox is connected with its end facing away from the vehicle to the crossmember in a respective end section thereof, and with its end facing the vehicle is connectable to a structural component of the vehicle, e.g., a longitudinal member. The crossmember has a corrugated structure in the area where a crashbox is connected. A tow sleeve is integrated into the bumper crossmember in the connection area of the crashbox. The tow sleeve is held in a vertex structure of the corrugated structure in a form-fitting manner in the z and y directions, the vertex area of this vertex structure facing away from the crashbox, with the lateral surface of the tow sleeve on the flanks facing one another and forming the vertex structure.

ENERGY ABSORBER WITH FIXED ANGLED FINS

An energy absorbing system includes a carrier having a wall extending along a longitudinal axis. The energy absorber has a first leg and a second leg extending in a first direction away from the wall. A plurality of fins are fixed to and extend from the wall in the first direction, at approximately 60 to 65 degrees relative to the wall.
