A motor vehicle includes a vehicle body, a drive motor, and a water tank delimited by walls. At least one airbag module includes a gas generator and an airbag configured to deploy in the area of an exterior of the motor vehicle for the protection of pedestrians or the like. The airbag module is fastened above the wall of the water tank. A device for lifting a front hood from a closed initial position into an accident position, which is partially open in the area of the front windscreen.
AIRBAG DEVICE
An airbag device includes an airbag accommodated in the accommodation part in a state where a wrapping material is wrapped around a folding completion body formed by folding the air bag. A region of the wrapping material configured to cover an upper of the folding completion body has a double structure of an outer part and an inner part. The outer part has slits that are intermittently formed substantially along an axial direction of the folding completion body. The inner part is configured to cover a lower of the slits and is configured so that a terminal, which is an edge side distant from a region configuring the outer part of the wrapping material, is located below a central line extending substantially in a horizontal direction from a sectional center of the folding completion body.

Airbag made from a fabric substrate coated on an exterior side and on an opposite interior side
A dual coated fabric that is well suited for producing vehicle airbags. The coated fabric includes a first coating on one side and a second coating on a second and opposite side. The first coating may comprise an elastomeric coating, such as a cured rubber. The second coating on the opposite side, however, may comprise a non-elastomeric coating. The non-elastomeric coating provides dimensional stability and provides an excellent counterbalance to the elastomeric coating.
Pedestrian and vehicle protection system
The present disclosure is directed to a pedestrian protection system that includes a first sensor that generates a first signal indicating a hazard condition in front of a vehicle. The pedestrian protection system may also include an external airbag system that deploys an external airbag outside of the vehicle. In operation, a processor receives the first signal from the first sensor, processes the first signal to detect the hazard condition, and activates the external airbag system in response to the detected hazard condition to protect at least one of a pedestrian and the vehicle.

Systems and methods are provided for dynamically protecting transportable articles in vehicles. A system for dynamically protecting a transportable article in a vehicle may include one or more processors and non-volatile memory storing instructions. The instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the system to determine at least one of a characteristic or a trait of the transportable article; detect, based on sensed data, an emergency condition; select one or more article protection components based on (i) the at least one of the characteristic or the trait of the transportable article, and (ii) the detected emergency condition; and in response to detecting the emergency condition, deploy the selected one or more article protection components to protect the transportable article.

In accordance with the invention, the peripheral portion (31) includes at least one breakthrough (40) and a coating passage (17) is formed at least in portions between the peripheral portion (31) and the casing (20), wherein the tubular casing (20) includes at least in portions, especially on its entire exposed surface (21), an anti-corrosion layer and/or the fastening element (30) includes at least in portions, especially on its entire exposed surface (32), an anti-corrosion layer.
VEHICLE AIRBAG SYSTEM
A vehicle includes an A-pillar. The vehicle includes a windshield including an external surface and supported by the A-pillar. The vehicle includes an airbag inflatable from an uninflated position to an inflated position, the airbag in the uninflated position supported by the A-pillar, and the airbag in the inflated position including a first portion that extends along the A-pillar and abuts the external surface of the windshield and a second portion that extends transversely from the first portion.

In a collision detection device for a vehicle, the bumper absorber includes general parts and holding parts alternately in a lengthwise direction of the groove portion. In each of the general parts, a predetermined clearance is formed between an inner wall surface of the groove portion on at least one side of vehicle up and down sides, and the detection tube member. Each of the holding parts is in contact with a surface of the detection tube member on at least one side of vehicle up and down sides, and vehicle front and rear sides to hold the detection tube member. A holding part ratio, which is a ratio of a part of the detection tube member held by the holding parts to a unit length of the detection tube member, is set to be smaller than a predetermined value.
