OCCUPANT PROTECTION DEVICE
An occupant protection device which is configured to protect an occupant seated on a seat, includes a seat belt, an airbag, and an inflator configured to supply inflation gas to the airbag. The airbag has a bag shape formed of a flexible sheet body, the airbag is folded and stored in a storage part provided in a lap belt, the airbag is inflated so as to project toward a front upper side when the inflation gas flows into the airbag, and the airbag has a substantially triangular prism shape whose axial direction is substantially aligned with a left-right direction so as to include a leg abutting surface which is capable of abutting an upper surface of a leg of the occupant and an upper body restraining surface which is capable of restraining the occupant from a chest to a head, when the airbag is completely inflated.
Energy absorbing restraint web assembly including a visual deployment indicator
An energy-absorbing restraint web assembly may include a motor vehicle seat restraint web and an energy absorption web having a first length, a first end attached to the restraint web at a first location thereof and a second end, opposite the first end of the energy absorption web, attached to the restraint web at a second location thereof, the energy absorption web responsive to a transverse force applied to the restraint web between first and second ends thereof that is greater than a threshold force to elongate and absorb energy while elongating, wherein the restraint web defines a second length between the first and second locations thereof, the second length of the restraint web greater than the first length of the energy absorption web such that the overall length of the restraint web increases as the energy absorption web elongates.
PILLOW APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR REMOVABLY ATTACHING A STRAP SLEEVE TO A PILLOW
A pillow apparatus for removably attaching to a strap includes a pillow and a strap sleeve. The pillow includes a first major surface and a second major surface opposing the first major surface. A first surface area of the first major surface includes one of hook fasteners and loop fasteners disposed thereon. The strap sleeve includes a strip of material having an inner surface, an outer surface, a first end, and a second end and a removable fastener for removably fastening the first end to the second end to wrap the strip of material around a cavity for receiving a strap. The inner surface of the wrapped strip of material faces the cavity, and a second surface area of the outer surface of the strap sleeve includes the other of hook fasteners and loop fasteners disposed thereon for fastening with the hook fasteners or loop fasteners of the first major surface of the pillow. The first surface area is greater than the second surface area.
Air belt apparatus for vehicle
An air belt apparatus for a vehicle may include an air belt coupled to an inflator formed at a predetermined position in a seat back, the air belt being configured to be placed on a shoulder portion of a driver, and a seat belt including a webbing passing through the air belt, the webbing being extracted from a retractor spaced from the inflator with a predetermined distance.
Apparatus and method for seat belt wrap
A plurality of spaced-apart hook and loop fasteners are secured to the inside edge of a fabric to permit folding and installing the wrap on a seat belt. The fasteners are pivot points to permit an effective compression or scrunching of the wrap when not in use. The fasteners permit the wrap to move in an accordion-like fashion to expand for use or compress when not in use. Elongated foam stopper are provided along the top and bottom edges to fit around the seat belt causing light pinch points to keep the wrap in place when in use, and to permit the wrap location to be easily adjusted for user comfort. When the seat belt wrap is no longer in use and retracted, the stopper prevents the seat belt wrap from getting caught in the vehicles seat belt retracting system.
Seat belt
Disclosed seat belt assemblies or mechanisms include a seat belt guide which positions the seat belt for convenient ingress and egress by an operator, but in a position which reminds the operator to fasten the seat belt. The seat belt guide is configured to be stiffer in one direction of movement to maintain the metal tab of the seat belt at a raised position to one side of the operator seat, for example at a position adjacent to an operator joystick or control, but to allow the guide and the seat belt to be moved across the operator seat (and operator) for buckling.
PASSENGER RESTRAINING DEVICE FOR VEHICLE
A passenger restraining device for a vehicle having a three-point seatbelt device, a shoulder belt extending from above, a seat transverse direction one end side of a seatback of a vehicle seat toward a lower portion; a belt guide at an upper portion side of the seat transverse direction one end side of the seatback, through which the shoulder belt is inserted, that's disposed along a restrained surface of a passenger seated in the vehicle; a fixing portion fixes a rear end portion of the belt guide to a seat shoulder opening at the seat transverse direction one end side of an upper portion of the seatback; and a front side portion at a length direction front side of the belt guide, in a usual state, disposed further toward a vehicle front side than a collarbone of the passenger seated in the vehicle, and structured to be hard to bend.
Ventilated seatbelt for efficient cooling and heating of vehicle passengers
A vehicle seatbelt mounted, individualized climate control apparatus that provides substantially instantaneous heating or cooling of the occupant of a vehicle seat is presented. The apparatus has at least one housing with an inner chamber coupled to diffusers to deliver ambient, cooled or heated air from an air source through the chamber to the body of the occupant. Regardless of the cabin temperature, local conditioning of a seat occupant efficiently cools the front of the torso and dissipates the body's thermal plume or warms the torso in the alternative. The functional and safety aspects of conventional three-point seat belts remain unchanged and the apparatus can be used with retractable belts.
OCCUPANT RESTRAINT DEVICE FOR VEHICLE
An occupant restraint device for a vehicle includes a three-point seatbelt device, a shoulder cover, an attachment portion, and a hard pad provided inside the shoulder cover. The three-point seatbelt device includes a shoulder belt that extends from an upper portion at a seat width direction one end side of a seat back toward a buckle at a lower portion at the seat width direction other end side. The shoulder cover is provided at the upper portion at the seat width direction one end side of the seat back. The shoulder belt is inserted through the shoulder cover, and the shoulder cover is arranged along a restrained surface of the vehicle occupant sitting on a vehicle seat. At the attachment portion, a side of the shoulder cover at which a terminal portion thereof is disposed is attached to the upper portion at the seat width direction one end side of the seat back so as to be relatively movable in an up-and-down direction with respect to the upper portion. The hard pad is disposed between the vehicle occupant sitting on the vehicle seat and the shoulder belt in a region opposing a collarbone of the vehicle occupant.
